Hey everyone,
As the forums have grown tremendously the last few weeks, I've added a few more moderators to keep on top of the forums and making sure we avoiding any threads escalating to personal attacks like in the Louisville thread. I'll still be reviewing all moderator actions even if I'm not the one to take initial action, and will make adjustments if necessary.
If you do have any concerns about a post, please don't hesitate to report it. That will notify the moderators, so we can take action sooner than waiting for us to stumble across the posts on our own. When reporting a post, do make sure you're reporting the right post and not a response that quotes the post you actually want to report.

When reporting a post, do make sure you're reporting the right post and not a response that quotes the post you actually want to report. No one is disputing that the BOA Louisville thread should have been locked at some point. I suppose the bigger issue at hand is whether or not various viewpoints are welcome here. I noticed that at least one or two members cannot seem to handle an opinion that might be different from theirs. I am very openminded and am willing to deal with anyone. I realized a misinterpretation within that thread and owned it. My comments regarding band parents have to do with the ones who tend to show up and act like they know it all because their Kid is always #1. I welcome them as I find the back and forth entertaining. Big deal. If it is a violation to challenge opinions or disagree with hyper-sensitive folks because it does not fit into their idea of utopia (post BOA forums), then this place will turn into a joke. My humble suggestion would be to tread carefully in how violations are handed out and what for. In reality, while I am mindful that these forums can be pulled down at any time (I think they do add value to the conversation about this activity), I think ANY attempt to silence others who DO NOT engage in name-calling or personal attacks, but simply disagree, is absolutely ridiculous and small. Hyper-sensitive people will always complain and rarely engage in intellectual debate. If treated equally, they too should be reported for intolerance.

Hyper-sensitive people will always complain and rarely engage in intellectual debate. If treated equally, they too should be reported for intolerance. No one is saying your comments in that thread or elsewhere crossed any lines, my friend. However, continuing to push when everyone else has moved on from where that thread was headed is not coming across as level as maybe you think it is. This is absolutely a place for discussion. We all will have different views and opinions on things. There's a significant history of that being the case and no one having any issue with it. Where things devolve is when someone takes some such opinion/commentary personally and becomes overly defensive or starts attacking the stated opinion rather than discussing in a civil, considered manner. There have been myriad examples over the years of someone joining the board looking to see that everyone thinks the show they're connected to is the greatest thing ever, only to get hostile when any opinion states even remotely otherwise. You'll notice there's a very measured response to that happening, as we've all learned how to deal with and temper those interactions. We welcome the new person to the forums and encourage them to engage in positive discussions and not take anything personally because what is posted here is going to be opinion and may not align with what you may think is the case. I encourage you (and everyone) to continue engaging in positive discussion and share your thoughts on shows/results/etc. without going to the place you talk about.

Congrats Leandermomma! I haven't been on this forum often enough as of late to ask for a moderation spot, and frankly, I'd bet I'm not quite old enough (One month left darnit!). I'll likely be picking up intensity once I graduate though, maybe even closer to graduation. I'm sooooo busy right now with all of the AP classes, applying for college, applying for scholarships, and being in the honor band and practicing for the district audition process, on top of all of the marching rehearsals. I just missed my first performance ever because I fell ill on Thursday. It's been a very stressful Senior year to say the least.

Donβt burn yourself out, but donβt give up either. Youβll look back and be so glad you did all of these things. Your future looks bright! I hope you are feeling better now. Take care of yourself.

Just a reply to the last post leandermomma made here, but I am also in a bunch of clubs on top of everything and was just inducted into the National Honor Society at the beginning of this month. Another update by the way. I have now been accepted to every meteorology school that I applied to, including Iowa State, Valparaiso, Nebraska, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma(!!!). Iβm so excited to see where this journey takes me in the next few years.
By the way, bless the hearts of every Oklahoma football fan right now. πππ (CFP).

It depends on the financial package that I get from each school, but my dream school is Oklahoma.
