If I were one of the parents named in those articles, I'd be ashamed of the fact that I had my name publicly broadcast in an article that makes it clear they were the very downfall of that program. To think anything of this other than the fact that it was a despicable display of narcissism and not knowing your place is delusional at best. They actually said that WINNING a BOA regional in 2013 was not good enough. The fact that students were interviewed and mentioned in that article is even worse. Not qualified to lead that program, after having worked with them during their 2002 championship, and with other well known bands. Wow. Sadly, this isn't the only time we've seen this and it won't be the last. Let's ask PCEP how things are going.

And, she was at Allatoona and Kell AND Lassiter prior to becoming the director at Lassiter. Oy. These students that are mentioned are now in the process of looking for jobs, if not already doing so. I hate to be them, have a potential employer Google them, and have that come up.

Boy what have I done. I appreciate the new deprecate thread, thank you! I have realized the mistakes I made. Forgetting about SC. Let me clarify, my rankings were based on the amount of great bands in that state. Ohio is not listed because they have only one band that is known and feared on a national level: Mason. That’s not a lot, even though it kinda is. I noticed I missed SC, and that was a BIG mistake. I’m also glad we didn’t start WW|||. I shave molded my rankings based on what has been brought to my attention. 1. Indiana & Texas 2. Oklahoma 3. California 4. Illinois 5. Kentucky 6. Florida 7. South Carolina 8. North Carolina 9. Ohio 10. Virginia Still didn't fix the tied for first error in continuing your list. Your list SHOULD now read (without injecting my personal order changes, which would be significant): 1. Indiana & Texas 3. Oklahoma 4. California 5. Illinois 6. Kentucky 7. Florida 8. South Carolina 9. North Carolina 10. Ohio

I’d probably go
1. Texas 2. Indiana 3. Ohio 4. Oklahoma 5. California 6. Florida 7. South Carolina 8. Illinois 9. Kentucky 10. Georgia
Honorable mentions: Missouri, North Carolina, Kansas, Minnesota, Michigan
Based off of many things, # of bands, general quality, ect

I'm actually very surprised nobody has thought to put Utah on their list, especially over some other interesting choices.

I wouldn't even know where to start making a list, other than obviously Indiana and Texas. I tend to think of bands outside of Texas and Indiana as lone rangers. Like, I don't think of Oklahoma when I think of Broken Arrow. And I don't think of Florida when I think of Tarpon Springs. Or Ohio when I think of Mason, etc, etc. I'm living in a TexIndy bubble I think. I'm not particularly proud of that.

They've been busy starting up a bandmasters organization for marching band (UMEA) and I think held their first state championships right before St. George. There's been a lot of advocacy for this in general in the years prior.
