Predictions:
1. Owasso, OK 2. Bixby, OK 3. Bentonville, AR 4. Choctaw, OK 5. Stillwater, OK 6. Coweta, OK 7. McAlester, OK 8. Tahlequah, OK 9. Yukon, OK 10. Lafeyette, MO 11. Durant, OK 12. Tulsa Memorial, OK
The top three could really be a toss up, but I would bet on Owasso and Bixby being the top two with Choctaw trying to knock Bentonville out of third place, Places 5 and 6 are pretty interchangeable, 7 and 8 I am pretty confident about, and any combination of 9-12 really wouldn't surprise me.
Owasso- I put Owasso first because I saw them live at the Owasso Invitational on Saturday and I was seriously blown away. I know they aren't going to GN this year, but if they keep their momentum, I think this has the opportunity to be a GN Finalist show.
Bixby- Bixby has a very good show this year, but they still have a long way to go if they want to top their record 2018 season. If they can get their ensemble music and GE music score up and get more consistent (they were 2.05 points behind Jenks in finals at the Owasso Invitational, but only 0.7 being and taking visual in prelims) they have a chance at taking first
Bentonville- I haven't heard much about Bentonville this year, but they have a tendency to place high at this contest. Their finalist placement above Bixby in 2019 almost makes me want to put them in the second place spot, but their early season scores at the Owasso Invitational in 2019 and at this contest in 2018 seemed better sources for these rankings.
Choctaw- Choctaw surpassed my expectations at the Owasso Invitational, earning fifth place and sweeping in AA. If they continue to clean and perfect their show, fourth place seems very achievable for them.
Stillwater- If they can just get a little cleaner visually, I think they could get edge Coweta out of fifth place. Stillwater beat Coweta by 1.4 points in Owasso prelims, and lost to them by 0.3 in finals, so consistency is also a factor.
Coweta- Coweta's show is definitely good enough to beat Stillwater, they just need to keep moving forward and cleaning to secure their spot.
I'm not really that sure about the other 6 shows, but this contest looks like it will be a very checkpoint for Bixby and Bentonville to see how they might place at ST. Louis, and for Owasso, Bixby, Choctaw, and Stillwater to see how they fair against each other early season before 6A OBA.

I after watching a video of Bentonville and seeing Choctaw perform, I think Choctaw will most like beat Bentonville out of third, but not by much. As for Owasso and Bixby, they’re rivalry will push both of them to try and get top spot. Bixby needs to work on music performance and GE scoring. Owasso has been very clean this year, but they need more for their show, leaving them with a chance at setting back due to juggling added drill and cleaning said drill. But all in all it’s going to really affect the outcome of all of these bands at both St. Louis and at state later on.

Choctaw sounded like a completely different band at Owasso this year. I was pleasantly surprised. And as usual, they have one of the best guards in the state. I’m sure they’ll do well here.

My personal predictions for this competition are:
1. Owasso 2. Bixby 3. Choctaw 4. Bentonville 5. Coweta 6. Stillwater 7. Tahlequah 8. McAlester 9. Lafayette 10. Yukon 11. Durant 12. Tulsa Memorial
Owasso will definitely get at least two categories with a possible sweep, but Bixby has really been pushing for their win in GE. As for Choctaw and Bentonville, I’ve seen Bentonville perform amazingly so far, but with how well they did in 2019 and the fire for wanting to get better, I’d say Choctaw will get solidly third right above Bentonville. Coweta will do very well at this competition, maybe even beating Bentonville, their show is fresh and clean and the narration over it really helps sell the main idea. It’s clear (as of Oct. 2nd) that they’re going to be adding more to their show and that could be their downfall, but I’m pretty confident in the top 6. Past that I’m not too sure because I haven’t seen every single one of the bands, but Tahlequah seems to be doing better than usual at this time in the season.

Choctaw doesn't have a good enough track record for me to place them above Bentonville. Bentonville seems to be doing very good this year, so I would personally put them as a possible second place, but no lower than third unless Choctaw really brings the heat. I really do hope to see Choctaw do well here. If they perform here like they did at Owasso, I could definitely see them place in finals at Indy! As for Coweta, they are better this year than previous years, but I don't think they are good enough to place above Choctaw right now. I could be wrong, but I'm not that impressed with their show this year.

I will give it a go!
1. Owasso 2. Bixby 3. Choctaw 4. Bentonville 5. Coweta 6. Stillwater 7. McAlester 8. Tahlequah 9. Yukon 10. Lafayette 11. Durant 12. Tulsa Memorial
The way I see it, Owasso and Bixby are easily the front runners. I expect Owasso to take the gold, but Bixby is also looking really sharp this year. I have seen Choctaw live, and they are doing SO WELL this year, which is why I put them in 3rd. However, I have not seen Bentonville yet. They could just as easily take 3rd. Coweta is doing well this year also, so I expect them to sneak above Stillwater (I personally love Stillwater's show this year, but I just think Coweta's execution is a little tighter at this point). McAlester made Owasso finals and Tahlequah did not, which is pretty much solely my reasoning for putting them in the order I did. McAlester's show is really fun, and I think that is propelling the kids to make the show happen. Yukon has a really interesting show, but they have not quite found their groove when it comes to performance yet. I put them in 9th optimistically because I feel like they have a lot of potential, but they could end up placing lower. I have not seen anything from Lafayette, Durant, and Tulsa Memorial so I have no idea what to expect from any of them. Best of luck to everyone tomorrow! Going to be a fun contest to track.

Wow these bands are good today! Bixby’s visual book for the last few movements looks like a drum corp, and the visual was so clean throughout the whole show. Bentonville’s visual was also noticeably good. I honestly thought Bentonville would win music in AAAA, but Owasso’s music book was just way harder. Bentonville is very loud and clean though. With GE, I can’t decide between Bixby and Bentonville. Bixby’s show was very easy to follow because of the narration throughout and the visuals and music really drive the point of the show. Bentonville’s guard is a lot better than Bixby’s though and their show was very cohesive. It’s a toss up for me between first and second, but who knows. Maybe Owasso will have a good run and come out on top. Choctaw and Stillwater took my breath away! I can’t believe they are this good this year! Choctaw will probably take 4th, but Stillwater could have a really good run and beat them out of it. That being said, after seeing Choctaw today, I would almost put them as a finals lock for Indy SR. I’ve been saying that they could make it for weeks, but now I’m really thinking it’s possible. I didn’t get to see any of the other bands for prelims, but finals will be a GOOD show!

Wow! Not what I was expecting from the bands, but I am very impressed with the progress of Bentonville. After the Owasso Invitational I didn’t think they’d have it in them to really push and make their show amazing but they did and it was killer! Seems like my predictions were pretty off.
