How excited does everyone get for it to start? What's the most fun to work on; music? drill? sectionals? etc.?
Also, there's always something new for everyone involved to learn & help with!
- Students; Is there anything you feel as if you're lacking in practice? Maybe something you're afraid / shy to bring up to instructors or other peers? Any types of walls you feel you can't break through?
- Instructors / Techs; We know even the best out there wish to bring more to the table. Any struggles / barriers with teaching? What qualities make a good instructor in a competitive band? What does it take to reach the next level?
- Parents; Any tips or tricks in preparing for each season? Do you prep your kids or go in as blind as they do before starting high school? Is it best to be as involved as possible, dip your toes in here & there, or just let others take care of everything & support from the sideline?
- Alumni; Maybe you've experienced some things that you wish you knew back when you started? You may have also learned a thing or 2 since being a member of a band from and outside perspective now that you'd like to share?
Lastly, I know it's not very common (I even thought it was something you only saw in movies at one point lol) but how do we feel about band camp that's actually at a camp grounds with kids from schools all around?

As an alumni, my favorite part of band camp was learning drill. That was the one draw back of being drum major.
