A few that immediately come to mind below. Note that these are by no means undeserved, just huge surprises or come-from-behind type victories after most people thought a separate band would win.
Lawrence Central 2001 GN Broken Arrow 2006 GN Lafayette 2019 Johnson City Regional

Lawrence Central 2001 GN Broken Arrow 2006 GN Lafayette 2019 Johnson City Regional I would consider Fort Mill 2017 Winston Salem to be more of an upset than Johnson City 2019 seeing as how DB went on to get 6th at GN that year, but both were pretty surprising.

Loved that show. Watching GN finals live in 2018, a lot of people thought Broken Arrow would place higher. But that BS show was so good visually. And that singer/violinist was incredible.

Bowie beating Bell at Arlington in 2011 is a big one, as it was the first time Bell got sniped by a band that wasn't Marcus in the State since 2005.

We not gonna talk about Hebron 2015? 👀
Not saying Broken Arrow didn’t deserve to win, but that finals performance slot for Hebron was pretty upsetting! 😂

At the time I thought that Hebron had the best musical performance I had ever seen. The visuals were just not to the level of Broken Arrow and Avon. Visual is 40% of the score after all.

Would Carmel winning the 2002 San Antonio Regional be considered an upset? I'm not sure if it actually is... however, I know a lot of people were/are upset about it (pun intended). 😁

Would Carmel winning the 2002 San Antonio Regional be considered an upset? I'm not sure if it actually is... however, I know a lot of people were/are upset about it (still). 😁 Since Carmel beat LD Bell at Grand Nationals the year before and came within 0.05 points of winning the Grand National title, I do not consider them going to San Antonio and winning to be an upset. Yes I am sure the Texas folks were 'upset' that an Indiana band came down and won that competition on their turf (pun not intended). This only fueled the great Texas vs Indiana debate which rages on today.

My oldest son was on the Carmel Drumline from 2001 - 2004 so that particular Regional holds a lot of memories for him.

Would the 2016 tie at Grand Nationals between Carmel and Avon be considered an upset? This is one of the ones that came to mind for me. Considering they changed the rules the year after 🙃 I also think Pontiac 2010 is worthy of mention

Would the 2016 tie at Grand Nationals between Carmel and Avon be considered an upset? This is one of the ones that came to mind for me. Considering they changed the rules the year after 🙃 Also considering throughout the season Avon had consistently beaten Carmel at BOA and ISSMA (except for an early-season local invitation and GN prelims). With the largest difference being 2.35 points at Indy Super prelims when Carmel placed third behind Blue Springs.

Would the 2016 tie at Grand Nationals between Carmel and Avon be considered an upset? YES, Avon seemed destined to win their 4th GN Title. That win by Carmel by way of a tie was a huge upset.
