One good newer modern technology is being able to stream shows through the season, (despite how mediocre the quality is at times...) It definitely changes the fan experience where BITD you might hear rumors about how a corps was doing and get little bits of info on what corps was doing what show from things like Drum Corps World. Then you could catch some of the shows live if there was one in your area. Beyond that the best you could hope for was watching finals on PBS unless you were able to attend in person. Now with streaming as well as practice and lot videos all over the internet we can watch online all season long and see how the shows develop and change from day 1 to finals night. I bet drum corps parents BITD would have thought it would be great to be able to sit down in front of the TV and watch their kid performing live from halfway across the country and then text them after the show with thoughts on the performance and changes to the show etc. I remember being absolutely shocked at an early season competition my rookie season that many of the top level corps looked... dirty. Like, the drill was noticeably dirty... and that boggled my mind. Growing up in an area with no local corps shows to speak of, we only ever saw the PBS broadcast where things were seemingly [to me at 17] perfect. With streaming you can really see the development and change that had previously been invisible.

Funny story on the phones, It was one of my first DCI shows in 2014 the Muncie/summer symposium show. Friend and I went to a gas station to get some snacks for the bus and he dropped his iPhone in the toilet 😂 we bought rice and everything but nothing worked! So he didn’t have a phone for a month until his dad could get one to him at a Missouri show. He was pissed at the beginning but honestly I think it helped him perform better later on as it wasn’t a distraction!
When I go on a cruise or all inclusive I could care less about internet access - I just put it on airplane mode and use it for photos. It’s amazing, but it’s tough for so many and I get it

I've never really cared for the ever changing trends or the materials they use to make uniforms... my only gripe is when any costuming looks as if it was sewn together in 30 min with no care towards a cohesive design (Bluecoats 2022 & 2023 hornline costumes look terrible). Other than that, it would be cool to see some sort of head ornament being used, not talking about a shako, could be anything really.
