Here's an interesting update...unless I'm blind or IT fails (either of which is possible), California looks to be removed from the schedule, but remains on the "current enrollment" page.

It's not blindness on your part. I see the same omission on the schedule page. In the past, there have been examples of something disappearing and then being elsewhere on the page later. They seem to publish sequential updates rather than a single update on occasion. Hopeful that this is what has happened here.

Here's a thought: Could we possibly see an Indiana band come now that there's a week between Semi-State and State finals?

You could possibly add Ayala to potential? WBA has their schedule posted & this weekend for them is open.
Also, Corona del Sol has their state semi finals this weekend. I'm assuming they'll choose Utah since the choice between this & Utah is listed on the 9th on their calendar.

The only major conflict is Conquistor Classic at Lugo High in Chino Hills. There are no tentative events listed for SCSBOA for 11/2. The location being solidly SoCal this year is going to ensure a strong draw beyond the 14 enrolled. That being said... Drop: Chino Hills H.S., CA (Conquistador Classic) Upland H.S., CA (Conquistador Classic)

Carmel could be a possibility, but I don't think Etiwanda has the same draw as Long beach. Maybe one of the Hamilton county schools (Fishers, Westfield, HSE, Noblesville) but outside of Fishers, I'd call them verrrrry long shots.

I’m not holding my breath on seeing any surprise out-of-staters this year, particularly from schools outside the west coast/southwest area. Even the most affluent and competitively talented pool of Indiana schools probably aren’t going to decide only six months in advance to fly halfway across the country to attend a bandy band show. If BOA is able to announce a date and site earlier, then it’s way more likely that we would see some surprise groups here in the near future.

I get it. WBA has the power here - and from what I’ve seen they deserve it. Their sheets promote the agressive percussion programs and guard books seen in CA. Sure it’s fun for the wealthier more prominent CA bands to travel to Flagstaff or St. George… and maybe even GN / SanAntonio in the case of Ayala, Vista, Homestead ect.,
But, the bands here probably have to do a lot of funding on their own and they probably figure it just easier to promote/ participate in their circuit that serves them just fine, rather than a BOA regional.

Swap that 4/1 to 1/4 and we're good to go. What if I’m from Europe Then I will tell you to switch from the current 01/04 to the more useful 04/01. This is exactly why for dated documents involving international business it is preferred to use either full month names or three letter abbreviations. In which case, there would be no confusion in saying "publish your schedule on January 4 rather than April 1 (or 4 January rather than 1 April for most of the world not known as the United States of America).
