Thank you OldSchoolTrumpet!!! Your sandbagging worked. I will still buy you drinks for your trouble! Thanks. People have no idea how hard I work at this. Oh sure, the kids march in the snow... but I’m working 24/7 at it. I'm already looking forward to people misinterpreting your lack of enthusiasm again next year.

Really enjoyed Mason's show! Likely isn't going to break into the top 6, but they performed it very well.

Mason was stunning! They’d be top half in pretty much any other year. They did seem a bit nervous and maybe gave a more focused performance in semis, but I’m amazed that this program has recovered since 2017. I’m in awe of that flag line.

Don’t forget that two years ago Dobyns-Bennett performed first and cracked the top half. Anything can happen! Especially with a Cartwright show 😜

Can someone explain how finals performance order is decided again?

Can someone explain how finals performance order is decided again? Bottom half of the finalists based on semifinals score are in the first six spots based on the space they drew. Then the top half in the last six spots.

Thank you, TW!! That was absolutely phenomenal. What a breath of fresh air this year from them. I love the demand, love the complexity of their music book, love the SW color guard writing throughout...I just love it all!! What an exceptionally great final performance. This band cleaned a massively difficult show this season and has a ton to be proud of!

With the two opening performances from what were surely the 7th and 8th place bands in semifinals, I expect at least one band to score 95+ tonight and NOT medal.

OMG The Woodlands! I fell in love with that show all over again! Best run of the season and energy through the roof! I think that's your 7th place band tonight.

Is it just me or has every band so far had a flute soloist?

Oooh! That was my first time seeing Ayala this year and it was so interesting! Am I correct in thinking that Rosie Queen is there now?

Ayala was outstanding tonight too!!! We're in store for some magic tonight if the first three bands are any indication!

Ayala looked a little muddy with their set laying down, but since that was my first time watching them, I don't know if it was intentional.

Mason and Woodlands showed up tonight! One of these two is breaking into the Top 6.
Mason, I am just in awe of their sound everytime I see them. Woodwinds are some of the best in the country and they have such a deep and balanced ensemble sound.
Woodlands, such energy, such fun, such demand. They absolutely nailed it tonight.
Ayala, I missed them in prelims and semis so this was my first viewing. I loved the change of pace. Very challenging show, a bit more then they could handle I think. Lots of music and visual dirt, but so much energy. Amazing percussion and guard.

Homestead sounded amazing tonight. Can't get enough of the sax soloist, and that brass moment too!
Some visual dirt, especially with those triangles, but overall a great performance.

So happy for Homestead to have a great run to close out. I didn’t realize Kent Klee had written their music.

Ayala laid down a terrific final performance as well. I do think they deserved to be playing tonight. It's a magical, mysterious show!
Homestead was BEAUTIFUL. I got chills at the end. A million times more relaxed, less tense, and better-performed than earlier today. I would expect their Semis vs. Finals placements to be noticeably different. Unquestionably demonstrated they belonged in Finals this evening.

Absolutely love this Homestead show. Everything clicked at the right time for them. They didn’t need the electronics, but they sure do add to the show. So complex. Musically a stellar performance, a little iffy in the high brass. Another week to clean visually and this show would be a monster. The end of the ballad is probably my favorite moment of the year.
