My predictions: Avon and Carmel battle it out for GN champion. Castle makes finals again. 2020 has the most Indiana bands ever in Finals. No Texas bands attend. And Homestead won't make it in. You know it. But if they didn't, it could only be 13th place!

Here is another crazy prediction. Grand Nats not happening in Lucas Oil Stadium. Reason? It will be cost prohibitive.

As much as I wouldn't want to see Texas bands drop out this year, imagine if Reagan and Vista Ridge postponed to 2021 and went with the Texas Bands scheduled to come next year (Flower Mound, Marcus, James Bowie, The Woodlands, Round Rock). That would have the potential to top 2019's Texas contingency at Grand Nationals.

I can't see Vista Ridge dropping out they're pulling all sorts of stunts to try to keep the trip on especially with their "one of a kind once a millennia" type show
Reagan I can see being more liberal in their trip cancellation

Or Gupton stadium in Cedar Park!

Correct, and those types of decisions will be based more on liability potential than show potential. I'm not writing it off yet, but this is all trending the wrong way as we head into July. Wando backing out speaks loudly. I think the real question is going to be whether MFA will hold something like GN's with 40 groups from IN, OH, IL and MI that can drive in and out...or scrap it once groups from TX, MO, OK, FL and the rest are forced to withdraw.

Vista has a way out that won't be expensive for parents.
That's what's kinda lost in all this. How many parents would actually consider sending their kids on a overnight trip to another part of the country at this moment? I would, but in reality, I be I'm in the minority.

Not Attending:
Union H.S., OK
Union, like Jenks, will not be attending any BOA events this year. I imagine this is to save some funds since they are also planning on attending the Macy's parade this year (if it happens).

Northside ISD is more likely to cancel their trip before Leander ISD cancels Vista Ridges trip is what I meant
We have seen in the past Leander ISD be especially delayed when it comes to school closures and they seem to follow trends of local districts. While it's likely both districts keep their hands home I think we'll see Northside announce it before Leander does.

Not Attending: Dobyns-Bennett Boo!!! I wonder if they have it on good word that GN will be canceled. I bet they do. I’m curious if BOA will cancel GN first, then supers, then regionals... or if they’ll cancel it all together in one fell swoop?? Will they cancel September first then October, then November? I hardly doubt they’ll reduce the amount of bands in order to do “social distancing” at shows.

They’re gonna have to do it the same way WGI and DCI did it, and end everything altogether.
