No new regionals this year. Do you think we could be getting a late addition like Arizona last year?

No new regionals this year. Do you think we could be getting a late addition like Arizona last year? No. According to their Strategic Plan, 22 (actually 23 this year) is their maximum. They also did say they were going to continue the Indianapolis Marching Band Tournament, and that went by the wayside this year.

I have a question, on 10/3 there are two regionals in TX, doesn't that split up participants? A band in that area would have to pick one. Why would BOA do that?

In addition to the points made above about the distance between the two contests is the fact that there are plenty of bands to fill the contests. The Dallas and Houston regionals were on the same day this year and they were only about 260 miles apart, but there is no shortage of programs to fill both contests.

Speaking of serving the same markets, it's disappointing to see another Maryland and Virginia regional on back to back weekends. The locations are roughly three hours apart. I wish they would consider bringing back a regional further north.
