I know Fishers' show is such that you aren't able to post it without getting hit by copyright. What's it looking like for other bands? Any others doing shows that can't be posted?

Broken Arrow: I couldn't find any videos from BA's community performance on Saturday, but believe me when I say that it was AMAZING.It was dirtier than their usual standard, which is to be expected, but it was still outstanding. Imagine 2019 Bluecoats but with Queen. Bixby: Our show is definitely not as good as usual. The music is corny and pretty dirty, and our concept is really lame. We have pretty good drill though, just dirty. I think the directors are having us march solely for the fact that if we don't, we will have two years of freshman next year. Our winds are already doing concert band in the morning! The only marching rehearsals are on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. Thankfully our percussion director is still working on marching with us (I don't have anything against concert band, but it's waaaay too early).
I can't really say much about any other Oklahoma bands And this just highlights the different approaches to marching band vs concert band across the country. Lots of Indiana bands (jut the area I know the best) work on concert band from day one of school and marching band is only an extra-curricular.

Here (at least in Bixby), we have marching rehearsals starting about an hour before school and lasting through first hour, then after school Tuesday and Thursday rehearsals. We generally only have one or two Saturday rehearsals every year. After our last competition and parent performance, we put all of our marching instruments away and do wind ensemble, symphonic band, and guard in the mornings, then do jazz bands, percussion ensemble and chamber ensembles after school. The only exceptions are parades, championship games, and pep bands for basketball. I can't speak for other Oklahoma bands though. It's not as uniform down here

Back in my day (get off my lawn!), it was marching band 5th and part of 6th hour (~60 minutes, then lunch). 2 sectionals a week (Tuesday/Thursday), Wednesday from 6:30-9:00, Friday night home football games (I laugh at you poor suckers that have to do away games), Saturday rehearsals from 8:30-5:00.
Concert band didn't start until after chair placements in (I think) January. Same general plan: every day 5th and part of 6th hour, one sectional a week, Wednesday nights.

Very similar to my experience, also back in the day. 1.5 hours for one period every day in school (block schedule) 3 hours Tuesday and Thursday 2.5 hours Friday after school on home game Fridays 4 hours Saturday plus show 4 hours Sunday (sometimes a show) That's roughly 24 hours of rehearsal each week, all for marching band. Concert band didn't start until marching band season was over.

Pretty much all of the schools you've heard of from a BOA perspective (William Mason, Centerville, both Lakota schools, Kettering Fairmont, Miamisburg, Forest Hills, Milford, Northmont, Bellbrook, Beavercreek, etc.) all do concert band during the day year-round and only do marching band after school and on weekends. Some of the more competitive bands in the Columbus area do marching band during school.

Due to hurricane Delta weather hitting our area, Castle had to perform earlier. BOA cannot broadcast pre-recorded video. Go to Fans of Castle Marching Knights Facebook page and watch the livestream.

Don't want to start a new thread just for this, so: Flaming Lips 2020 = William Mason 2016?

Apologies if someone already posted this. I've been checked out on corps and bands and didn't realize until very recently that there were actually any band performances happening this fall. Grove City's show title below is confirmed; I couldn't find the musical selections listed, but this is what I hear in the video of their Oct. 10 performance.
Grove City (OH) - "Deja Vu" --"Ode to Joy" from Symphony No. 9 by Ludwig van Beethoven --"Simple Gifts" from Appalachian Spring by Aaron Copland --"Overture" from Ruslan and Ludmila by Mikhail Glinka --Second Movement ("Going Home") and Fourth Movement from Symphony No. 9, "From the New World" by Antonin Dvorak --"The Hut on Fowl's Legs" from Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky
Basically some of their greatest hits of the previous five years or so, though not in the same arrangements (and more of a mash-up than they usually do), but with some definite callbacks to past performances in the musical motifs. For instance, in the Dvorak-Mussorgsky section, there's a flourish lifted from the end of last year's opener. I didn't catch all the tunes; in particular, there's something mixed with the Dvorak that I don't recognize: a slower march piece that returns just before they bring back their flying tarp from 2017 (that year's show, "Coming Full Circle" is, in my opinion, their best to date under their current director). As performed at Lancaster, it included a standstill number, and resets to snare taps between movements, and it was very short for them: less than eight minutes.

Anyone in the southeast (GA SC NC) notice how lovely the weather has been lately?
Of course the year we don’t have band we have this amazing 70s and sunny everyday... rather than torrential rain storms, hurricanes, 100 year floods, freezing temperatures

Cool enough for the sound produced to be crisp and clear, warm enough for fans in the stands to use all their energy enjoying the shows rather than shivering.

Good Evening,
It has been quite some time since the last time that I posted on this forum, and I have to say that I thoroughly miss it. I will start (slowly) becoming a bit more active here as time goes on. The life of a college student can do things to you sometimes, and frankly I also wanted to stay away for a while as this...issue..took hold of the world, as digesting a world without competitive marching band at any level was rather difficult and depressing, as I am sure it was for most of you too. By the way, I am currently a freshman at the University of Nebraska, and I have loved every moment of being here. Yes, I am in the marching band here, of course, and we are doing a lot this semester in lieu of the normal schedule. Once again, it feels great to finally come back here, and I hope to speak with you all again in the near future.
P.S: look at my new profile picture!

Anyone catch masons live stream? They were great! The drill seemed a little light compared to usual - especially how much of the field they used. Was perhaps a little dirtier than GN finals level but still good

Not sure if this will stay up or not but you can catch the whole thing here on their Youtube page.
As for the actual show. Seemed very toned down in terms of overall production. Probably just a cost saving measure for this season. But yeah still pretty good. Only show I've seen all year so have nothing to compare it to.

Was perhaps a little dirtier than GN finals level but still good Sheerly by coincidence, I happened to open up Youtube right in the middle of their live performance, and it was listed as a recommended item for me (sometimes algorithms can be good), and it was rewindable, so I got to see the wohle thing. As you and buckeyesax indicate, while pleasant enough, it's a fairly restrained production clearly meant just to keep their skills from atrophying due to a year off.

Here is Lumberton performing at a Marching Festival. There were no awards or placements but I know they would've gotten 1st. They performed and then had a clinic with the "judges".
