Bixby (OK) After the cancellation of Oklahoma's competitive season, Bixby is holding off on their original program, Event Horizon, and will save it for later. They'll instead produce a show honoring the program's past, specifically their 2007 production "We Will Carry On," which was designed by one of their directors, Jeremy Parker, in 2006. Parker departed to Coweta, OK in the summer of 2007 but Bixby still performed his show and had a very successful season. Parker returned to Bixby as head director in 2012, a year after they transitioned to class 6A. It was decided that the same theme would be fitting this year. They'll still use the My Chemical Romance music from the original production, but will add in some STYX and other original content. Basic teaser link: 2020 Bixby - We Will Carry On

Just in case if any of you were missing competitive fall shows, here is Lincoln H.S., SD 2020 show "Noc-Turn". The show is still a work in progress with only the first 3 movements on the field and it's still entirely unknown if this show will see a competition as all but 2 of their competitions have either been cancelled, or is moving to a virtual format. However, I figure you might all appreciate so here it is:
(Marching begins at 47:40, they were also out of uniform due to a triple digit heat index in Sioux Falls)

Vista Ridge is getting ready to start the 2020 season and has posted this preview video of the 2020 show.
I will so love seeing and hearing parts of these 3 great shows again! They were my youngest's last 3 years of High School Band and lots of great memories.

How are all of your bands fairing?
Very prominent band in my town probably at about half of last years membership, not even a front ensemble. Sad, I hope they all recover soon

Sad, I hope they all recover soon My former band (Carmel) is having a bunch of fun doing their show entitled βTributeβ where itβs parts from each of our 5 Grand National Championship winning shows from 2005, 2012, 2016, 2017, and 2018. Iβm looking forward to coming back home from college at Kentucky and seeing them at their community night as I marched from 2016-2019 and hearing some of my favorite pieces of music ever be played by the band again.

How are all of your bands fairing? Very prominent band in my town probably at about half of last years membership, not even a front ensemble. Sad, I hope they all recover soon INDIANA: Most major programs here are moving forward with some type of show, which will probably speak well for their success in the coming years compared to other bands in states where marching band has been heavily impacted. COVID / Director Change didn't have a negative impact on numbers at Homestead this year. They created a small & basic show which was preformed live and via stream for their community night. They had a short band camp and only a few practices due to Indiana's and the SACS school systems COVID restrictions. No football games this season. Homestead 2020 "Order & Chaos" I know Avon has moved forward with a show too this season. They have been to a few "competitions" (feedback only) and will be hosting their own competition today. Some numbers problems with the senior class, but nothing too dramatic. Still a great show. Avon 2020 "Vintage" Carmel has created a show for this season that features musical selections from each of their Grand Nationals wins. They will be preforming at football games and at their community night this season. They sound great! Not a lot of marching, but its awesome hearing Carmel play those songs again! Carmel 2020 "Tribute" Castle has also been working on their show for this season. They moved forward with their original show and concept and did not use a backup show. They have also been attending some "competitions" (feedback only) and have had several live stream events for fans. Castle 2020 "Broken Symmetry"

Leander is having a football season and the band is playing in the stands plus a short bit at halftime where they perform while the Blue Belles do their Pom routine. I went last night and it was a lot of fun. The kids seemed to be enjoying it.
Lots of Texas bands are doing recycled and reimagined shows this fall. Canβt wait to see a few of them. Leander is actually planning something for the Spring which could be very good for teaching the Freshmen to march right before summer.

There's a video of Norwin on Flomarching, and it looks like they're at full size based on recent bands they've fielded (70 winds, 30 guard, about 120-130 total). American Fork is also on Flomarching, but haven't seen their show yet.
Speaking only for my former HS, they have two shows - one is basically an outdoor drumline show, and the other is outdoor winds with a very small rhythm section. This is also the first year they've had a change in director in over 20 years. Percussion section hasn't taken any hits in members, but the winds are down about 25%. For a school that has relied heavily on 6th-8th grade members to stay around 60 winds, this may take a while to rebound from.

Norwin is down about 10-12 members. Students opting out this year. Not unexpected and what many programs are seeing this year.
American Fork was a pleasure to see in a unique marching band season. Appears to have their whole show on the field complete with guard uniforms and flags. And one of the best looking, picturesque backgrounds you could have. Beautiful view of the mountains behind the stadium.

Broken Arrow: I couldn't find any videos from BA's community performance on Saturday, but believe me when I say that it was AMAZING.It was dirtier than their usual standard, which is to be expected, but it was still outstanding. Imagine 2019 Bluecoats but with Queen.
Bixby: Our show is definitely not as good as usual. The music is corny and pretty dirty, and our concept is really lame. We have pretty good drill though, just dirty. I think the directors are having us march solely for the fact that if we don't, we will have two years of freshman next year. Our winds are already doing concert band in the morning! The only marching rehearsals are on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. Thankfully our percussion director is still working on marching with us (I don't have anything against concert band, but it's waaaay too early).
I can't really say much about any other Oklahoma bands

Thank you alexsievers23 for posting the clips of Homestead, Avon, Carmel and Castle! Great to see those programs on the field. Castle's clip is from the Evansville North Showcase back on Sept. 19. That night Castle had 33 band students missing on quarantine but all are back now. Their last performance is Saturday, Oct. 10th for a BOA live stream.
