Let’s talk about show design:
Some consistent heavy hitters: - Broken Arrow - The Woodlands - RONALD REAGAN (!!!!!!) - Tarpon Springs - Carmel (?) - Flower Mound - Marcus - Vista Ridge
Some hit-or-miss bands: - Hebron - Avon - Cedar Park - Cedar Ridge - Fishers
Show design consistently hold the band back: - Castle ‘18 & ‘19

IMO there are two members of the “elite design” club: Flower Mound and Carmel.

I don’t have an easy solution for this though 😓

Honestly I'd argue Hebron's design holds them back more often than not. They've basically dominated music performance for a number of years, and their visual performance seems to be catching up. While they managed to win GE at San Antonio last night, I think half of their general effect comes from hearing a high school play so well - and not a lot from the vague (and imo boring) concept they adopt most years.

As far as design goes, in Texas I'd say Flower Mound is absolutely at the top. The shows they've put out since Biskup took over the program have been incredibly well constructed. Claudia Taylor Johnson is also up there for me, but I know they are a rather divisive program for many people when it comes to design. As for elsewhere, I've never been a big fan of their shows but Carmel has always had very strong designs.

Sorry you have a short attention span I guess. Hebron’s designs are great.

Hebron and Cedar Ridge are not hit or miss designs. Hebron 2018 ≠ Hebron 2019, 2021, 2017
