I am actually okay with including the name of the town in the schools name in announcements in certain situations. For example if Flower Mound and Marcus are attending the same show, calling Marcus "Flower Mound Marcus," does make sense to me.
This really only pertains to large districts I suppose with multiple competing high schools.
Not sure why BOA only refers to Mason as William Mason. Who even is he? lol

So, it is now the City of Mason

I feel like this Lakota’s to lose, but it is early season so with partial shows anything is possible. But they were amazing last year with that figments of reality show

My gut says LW, my heart says Noblesville.

The rollover still has not happened. Many schools did not submit their enrollment numbers in time so BOA is playing catch up and hasn’t submitted the new data. There are no BOA shows listed in any group’s “Upcoming Performances” section. It is likely we will see a staggered rollover of classification data.

I do find it interesting that Marian Catholic has no class listed next to them if you search on CompetitionSuite. Could mean nothing, could mean something.

IHSA has gone to a 2 year cycle of enrollments and classifications. For the 20221-2022 and 2022-2023 school years, Marian's enrollment is listed at 967. There's an infographic from last year on Marian's website that has their enrollment listed at 865, which is probably closer. God knows what it is now as the tuition shoots up more and more.
I'm pretty well convinced that they've played up a class (as is their prerogative) at Illinois State for years.

Just started tuning in and caught a bit of Milford's show. Think this was the first time I've heard Billie Eilish in a HS marching band show, so that was interesting. Musically it needs a lot of cleaning, but it's still super early in the season.
(also side note, first post here since a year ago, so glad to see some familiar names are still here too!)

Miamisburg - looking and sounding pretty good for only mid-September. Should be in the middle of finals.
Worthington Kilbourne - can't believe this group was basically not even on the radar a decade ago when I was still in HS. Clearly a lot has changed through the years! The visual design of this show is beautiful, and I think they will be scoring quite high in GE. I'm hoping they can bring out everything a little more musically to match the visual design of the show. They also are performing at a good level for early season as well, so very curious to see how this cleans up by end of season.

The most interesting part of Kilbourne’s opener was when they played concert G and Ab back and forth in a variety of ways for 90 seconds. Effect wise, this could go either way.

Such a good addition to the scene. Through this point, I'd probably have them on top, including over Miamisburg by a comfortable margin.

Noblesville- I don't think i've ever watched this group before but was looking forward to watch based on the forum predictions here. Honestly, they seemed to have some issues getting the music to line up basically the entire show, although I think there is a framework of good music/visual design. Curious to see what the judges think though.

Certainly expected a little bit of a better performance and maybe we'll see that tonight after nerves settled down a little bit. Currently have them somewhere in 3rd to 5th for prelims atm. Was quite surprised by Miamisburg who really came out strong! Great start for them.

Central Crossing- thought they played decently. A lot of the visuals didn't seem come off correctly to my eyes, so the effect was missing for me.
Christian Academy of Louisville - I'll be honest; i don't usually watch the really small bands, but this group seemed to do a lot with the small size they have. I think the percussion in the back is actually genius, and I don't fault them for mic-ing the group so often. Overall enjoyed this show.

Fairfield- Another band that played decently and some interesting train-themed visual and music effects.
Franklin Central- Seems like they only have half their show on the field still. There's some fantastic color guard work and good visual effects. Visually performed well, and also performed decently musically. One of the front runners right now.
