The 2023 Bands of America Grand National Championships will be held Nov. 9-11 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Happy Grand Nationals Week! While we all eagerly await this year's edition of Grand Nationals, it's never too early to think about the future and speculate what next year has in store for us. Not much is known about next year's Grand Nationals but here is what we know so far:

Status Unknown/Potential Bands: Broken Arrow H.S., OK (Pre-pandemic, skipped every third year after going 2 consecutive years in a row. This would be a year they would skip but we'll see if that holds.) Dobyns-Bennett H.S., TN Franklin H.S., TN Jenks H.S., OK Bentonville H.S., AR Mustang H.S., OK Clover H.S., SC (Either Next Year or 2024) Greendale H.S., WI (Macy's 2023 Participant) Castle H.S., IN

Aside from the typical Texas contingent of the Woodlands, Round Rock, and CTJ (I believe they’re also every other year now) I’m 99% certain Hebron will be here. It follows the LISD four year schedule and many of their students have always mentioned returning to Indianapolis in 2023. After that there are a couple other Texas bands I have a sneaking suspicion may also be going, some for the first time, but I’m not positive so I’ll wait until there’s more certain information out there.

From what I've heard, Vandegrift had plans to go back in 2023 but dropped them after they were accepted for the Macy's Parade this year.

Interesting schedule note, there will be 2 weeks between ISSMA State Finals and Grand Nats next year. This also pushes Indy Super a weekend earlier.

I really hope we get some more first time Texas groups. So many Houston area groups really need to go! (Pearland, Bridgeland, Seven Lakes)
I wonder if Keller will go again. They went in 2015 and we're likely going to go in 2019 but did the Macy's parade instead. Last time Keller Central went with them. I'd love to see Keller, Central, and Timber Creek all come!

Is the FFA convention the first weekend of November next year? If so, Indy Super could still be the third weekend in October if ISSMA semi-state is two weeks before state finals. If not, Indy Super could be that weekend (as it has been multiple times in the past). There is potential for both Indianapolis and San Antonio to be on the same weekend. Seems like a potential staffing nightmare for MFA, even compared to two SRs on the same weekend last season and this year's "Super plus three" weekend.

Yes, 2023 FFA is listed as Nov 1-4 . Indiana State Finals will be Oct 28. Next year’s PASIC convention is shown as Nov 8-11, so likely Grand Nats is then as well.

Scholastic finals is outside. Yes the FFA convention is the first weekend of November.

Greendale will probably not be here next year due to them going back to Macy’s. They have gone every year since 2009, with the exception of 2016, their first year attending Macy’s.

I have read the prophecy and CTJ will win BOA Grand Nationals in 2023. Here is my reasoning:
1. A Texas Band always wins on a year ending in 3 (Spring 1993, Westfield 2003, The Woodlands 2013) 2. CTJ has their most successful years every three years (first time in top half of BOA SA in 2011, won BOA SA in 2014, won BOA SA in 2017, won UIL State in 2020)
Thus the logic follows that CTJ will win BOA Grand Nationals in 2023.

Based on the current More Or Less Confirmed list, I'll say:
1. Avon H.S., IN 2. Carmel H.S., IN 3. William Mason H.S., OH 4. Fishers H.S., IN 5. Brownsburg H.S., IN 6. Castle H.S., IN 7. Centerville H.S., OH 8. Jenison H.S., MI 9. Miamisburg H.S., OH 10. Homestead H.S., IN 11. Lawrence Township, IN 12. Marian Catholic H.S., IL
Good to see MPLT and Marian back in finals. But this could possibly change as more groups are announced. ;-)

From what I have heard you can count out any band from the Fort Mill area attending GN next year. Catawba Ridge is going to London for the New Years Day parade, and Nation Ford and Fort Mill have both been vocal about not returning until they have a program that will make semis. Wando is likely to be the only SC representative next year, and Cleveland is likely to be the only NC rep.
