If we say it enough, maybe we'll speak it into existence.
I'm getting Broken Arrow 2006 vibes and I'm here for it.

Hendrickson High School, TX 8:45 PM — Castle High School, IN 9:00 PM — Southlake Carroll High School, TX 9:15 PM — Brownsburg High School, IN 9:30 PM — Broken Arrow High School, OK 9:45 PM — Avon High School, IN 10:00 PM — Dobyns-Bennett High School, TN 10:15 PM — Tarpon Springs High School, FL 10:30 PM — Carmel High School, IN 10:45 PM — William Mason High School, OH 11:00 PM — EXHIBITION Class A: Archbishop Alter High School, OH Does this mean DB scored in the top 6 since they are performing in the later half? If so, I am surprised. Their Semi's run wasn't the best musically or visually, so I was worried they were gonna drop a couple of places. Yep! They’re in 6th

Wow! Super thrilled for first timers Brownsburg and Fishers!!! Absolutely thrilled for Castle!! On the other side, I must have been some strange trip during the A bands. Mason was great but I expect a mix up in placements and captions tonight. Should be fun!!

I'm convinced at this point that BOA hates American Fork. Same. I’m more mad than when Wando didn’t make it last year That was one of the most shocking moments I've ever witnessed. I remember my jaw being on the floor when I realized they weren't called.

This is Mason's first time ever beating Avon or Broken Arrow head-to-head.
To say "proud alum" is an understatement.

And second post for the American Fork, MGJ, O'Fallon, Rosemount, and Mustang bands. It was such an incredibly close fight and I wouldn't be surprised if they were all within a point. Congratulations on fantastic seasons anyway! Those tears will end soon enough, and we've got many incredible years of them.

Good stuff to all the bands, especially Mason, Alter, Castle and the newcomers to Finals. Special shout out to Dobyns-Bennett for once again outplacing where most people thought they'd be after semis, they seem to do that every year.

Tbh don’t know where Tarpon will place but this happens every year. Could see them winning everything but also potentially see them lower. I’ll stick with 5 for right now. Can’t count out Avon from making a push on finals night. IMO DB, Fishers, and Prosper lead the middle of the pack heading into finals. Followed by the Henny train, Castle, Brownsburg, and Southlake Carroll rounding everything out. Should be a great show and I can’t wait to be completely wrong.

VERY sad that American Fork did not make finals. I can't wait to see the recaps from this whole event and see what was what. To see who to write angry emails to

Four new Finalists - is that a record? 2018 had Jenks, O'Fallon, & Prosper, and I think I remember that being the record at the time...

I am all in on William Mason for the upset. I would also love BA to come over the edge and medal, but their spot in finals isn’t great. LET’S GOO “Over the edge” I see what you did there

Can someone explain to this newbie how Carmel got Visual Effect? Absolutely on music but visual? I'd pick Avon in a heartbeat or Mason.

I thought AF played wonderfully but they were visually dirty. When the semi scores come out I bet they will be top 10 in music but lower near 20 in visual and GE Visual. It wasn't a visually clean run. I never had AF in the mix. I had MG Johnson mostly based on everyone else, but it was my least favorite Texas show. I did mention Carroll, Prosper as stronger possibilities than Hendrickson. Really glad for them!! I want go go record and commend Southlake Carroll for their hard work and progress because they were really struggling with this show early.

VGE is a different sub caption They're clean both individually and as an ensemble and the difficulty/demand is high. (Maybe not on the same level as a TS or BA, but there is high demand)

The end of an era? Marian Catholic is a legendary program, many hold the opinion that it is the greatest band program of all time, I would agree. Talking to people who were in and around the program when they were winning grand national championships, they don’t feel the program has ended or fell off. Competition for them was just a teaching tool to enhance personal development and performance. They feel that results of competitions are great and all but if you performed again the next night after a competition the results could be completely different so don’t get too concerned about scores or placements. From what understand Greg Bimm still teaches the same values to this day, work hard and just perform the best you can as an individual and as a group. It’s strange after 7 gn titles and 34 finals appearances not seeing them but those things were never the goal.

Sheesh. Crazy!
Hendrickson misses Finals at the SA Super and places 25th, but makes GN Finals a week later.
Southlake Carroll missed Finals at the Bedford Regional, places 13th, but makes GN Finals
Prosper more than likely would've placed somewhere near the 25-35 range at San Antonio
M&G Johnson, performing after Avon and Broken Arrow was no easy feat. Surely their score had something to do with that.
The field in Texas is deeeep

Keep in mind that many of the top Hornrank bands are local (all of the Austin/Cedar Park bands included). I was surprised to see them place 25th until I realized what they were up against (Vandy, Ronald Regan, CTJ, all of the Austin/Leander/Cedar Park bands).

Hey y’all, I’m sure many of you have guessed what band I’m from (also my opinions and words here do not represent the band as a whole I’m just an individual) but I would like to say thank you all. This may have not been the result we wanted at the end, but I and many others could not be more proud of our show and what we played. It’s been a joy seeing all your kind words of encouragement. I will still be on these forums for years to come.
Also to any kids from any finalist bands reading this, you all deserve it. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Can’t wait to watch finals!
