William Mason drew a great time slot right after Carmel. Willing them to pull this one out!

Crazy not seeing a Texas band place in the top 6 (for obvious reasons, but still)!

I won’t be posting any of my thoughts during finals as I want to just enjoy the competition (I’m sure some of you are happy to hear that!). Here are my predictions BEFORE we see the final performances.
1. Carmel 2. William Mason 3. Avon 4. Broken Arrow 5. Tarpon Springs 6. Dobyns-Bennett 7. Fishers 8. Prosper 9. Castle 10. Hendrickson 11. Brownsburg 12. Southlake Carroll

Finalist Winners by Performance Slot (since 2016):
2016: Carmel-Performed 10th/13 2016: *Avon- Performed 12th/13 2017: Carmel- Performed 8th/12 2018: Carmel- Performed 11th/12 2019: Vandegrift- Performed 11th/12 2021: Broken Arrow-Performed 8th/12
Interesting trend on years so far with 12 bands that the second and second to last performing groups of the top 6 have been the champions. This year that would put it to Avon or Carmel if this small sample size trend continues. Must be something special about those spots.

I know I can turn down the volume on my TV so I don't have to listen to the horrendous music being played at LOS, but what about the folks at the venue? Uggh. I couldn't stand it.

The 2022 Finalists: Prosper TX; This is their second trip to Grand Nationals and their second appearance in finals. Their first appearance was in 2018. I believe this is Prosper's third trip to Grand Nationals. They first went in 2017 and were semifinalists then made finals when they returned in 2018.

Feels like there could be magic in the air for top 5. I can see any of them having a huge run and taking Kevin home. All comes down to who puts it all on the field and what the judges are looking for

it feels about 70 in the stadium... pretty big swing from outside to inside... glad the kids get to be inside for a bit before they go on.

Posting again because the semi-finals forum is now old news!
I’m a big Castle fan ever since 2016, and I am so happy to see them in finals again❤️.
On another note, I would like a discussion on how you can compare a show like Tarpon’s to Carmel in a GE level. They are both so different, yet astonishingly well designed in different ways. Is that the part of the activity that is truly up to judges preference and/luck?

Is that the part of the activity that is truly up to judges preference and/luck? I can only give my opinion based on what I saw at Indy Super Regional, and my uneducated opinion. I thought Carmel was somewhat boring, and not such a difficult show. To me, it was all about how large they were and not how good they were. I may eat my words tonight, but every time I've seen Tarpon Springs, their show has been very difficult both musically and visually; something that Carmel wouldn't achieve at the same band size.

Listen. I’m full on Sickos Committee for results tonight. I want maximum chaos and surprise. Semis Awards gave me a taste of what could be. Give me:
- Mason/Tarpon top 2. I prefer Tarpon’s show but a first time winner out of nowhere would give me LIFE. - ABC shut out of captions. Spread the love. - Carmel third. Avon streak broken. - DB beating BA. Only outcome more chaotic than BA getting beat by one of Wes’s other bands is getting beat by two of them in the same round. - Southlake in 7th. Going from the Texas laggard to the leader would be a fantastic storyline. - Similarly, Castle up to 8. They were behind the other two Indiana bands in the bottom half all season so now they need to be up! I’d be okay with Brownsburg here too since people were most skeptical about them going into this afternoon. - and I want scores to start low or all above 90. Don’t start at 87/88 and move up gradually. That’s boring.
Who else is with me? Who else wants the CHAOS?!
