Question for the mods: Instead of separating the Local Show RESULTS and DISCUSSION threads, what if we created a single Local Show thread for each week of competition? For the local show threads in the past, it's been tedious to scroll past incredibly lengthy posts in order to find the latest reply. Typically, these lengthy posts were either: - Huge walls of text capturing EVERY SINGLE SCORE from EVERY local show from the previous weekend—in ONE POST
- Someone quoting ^those^ posts just to reference a single score result
Last year, to alleviate this issue, the local thread was separated into a "results" and a "discussion" thread. But not only did this problem still persist, it also inhibited conversation (there's only 5 pages in last year's "discussion" thread!). Without the ability to quote results from a show in the same thread, you are less likely to generate discussion about that show. In the interest of encouraging discussion—after all, what else is a discussion board for?!—I would recommend the following: - Making a single "Local Show Results AND Discussion" thread for each week
- Limiting any single post to results regarding a single geographic region (e.g., make one post about local shows in the Northeast, another post about shows in the Midwest, another for local shows in Texas, etc—or just post results of individual competitions as you find them!)
- Encouraging those who quote a post to delete any irrelevant information from within the quote (e.g., if you're replying to the results of one competition, delete the results of the other four shows from your quote)
Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this... I recognize that we can't implement every change recommended, but I appreciate you at least considering this idea 😇

But I understand it's annoying. So I was thinking not putting up score every week, but until the end of season or limit the competitions that nobody posted with higher ranking BOA participate only. If u guys are up to that? Plus, I kinda hated that I prohibited anyone from posting scores because I was hogging everything.

I would think separating things geographically would make the most sense, then I could seek out the results that I was interested in more easily. Also, if you had a “Texas results and discussion thread” that would be a lot more logical to me personally. I find that separating the results from the discussion of the results is a bit… Awkward?

To be clear: I appreciate your commitment to sharing information with the board 💯 You are awesome!! I just want any information on here to be posted in a way that encourages discussion. For example, you're welcome to split your findings into multiple posts. Multiple pages in a thread > a single page with a ton of scrolling! I also think it's worth making a new post each time you find more scores. If you go back and edit a post to add new scores, people may not notice. It's up to you whether you choose to share every score you find or just those most important to you/most relevant to BOA... If a certain competition's/circuit's/region's scores are important to someone, they'll post them here, I'm sure

I like the trend of bigger states having their own threads... There's so much happening exclusively within Texas that it makes sense to have a Texas thread. (I guess that's already in the Texas Board, but given the higher traffic of the Competition Board, it might make more sense to put a Texas Results and Discussion thread in this board instead.) I feel like the Local Show Results and Discussion thread is a catch-all for all the other states with lower BOA participation, lack of local circuits, or simply lack of participants on this board.

Yea last year on the second week I started to divided one post with 6 states which accumulation of 4 posts in totally for the week, as well if someone posted a result of competition, I wouldn't post it. Just didn't know if u guys like how I formatted last year, but I will try to limit myself.

I can do some organizing work tonight after my kids are in bed

Thank you Allohak ! Would it sound snobbish if we had two "Competitions" pages, one for BOA/MFA Affiliate shows (which was sort of the original impetus for these forums), and one for other regional contest, local show, and state threads? It might just take some getting used to, but the Competitions page just feels a little cluttered now. I don't think there is a perfect system, just putting that thought out there!

Separated BOA and MFA-Affiliate shows and non-BOA Circuits and independent events to different categories Updated threads for Ohio/MSBA/OMEA, Kentucky/KMEA, Oklahoma/OBA and created threads for Michigan/MCBA, Virginia/VMBC, and Illinois - Indiana and Texas left as sub-boards for the time being Added threads for USBands and WBA Left threads for major independent events as separate - Owasso, Bentonville, Union, Blue Springs, etc. since they typically have especially strong lineups
Don't see a state/circuit that you think should have it's own thread? They can of course have one!
