I just wanted to take a minute to let all of our Oklahoma friends know that we are thinking of you and praying for your safety today as severe storms and tornadoes are highly likely this afternoon and tomorrow. I know that OKC has canceled school today in advance of the storms which tells you exactly how seriously they are taking this forecast. Also thinking of the Tulsa area as it is an area of high concern as well for possible tornadoes.
Stay safe friends!

The meteorologist side of me just had to reply here. I saw that high risk coming. Itβs going to be a really dangerous day, and did you know itβs the six year anniversary of the last Moore tornado back in 2013. I have a really bad feeling about today. I wouldnβt be surprised to see another EF5 today, or god help us if there are more. I hope everyone stays safe.

Also the northern side of Texas will be greatly affected by this storm, my college friends staying in Abilene are preparing for the worst

Thankfully the storm went further north than anticipated, and missed Bixby, but I think Broken Arrow got it pretty hard

I hope everyone in the path of the storms has a safe place to go!

Iβve been thinking the same thing today. Itβs brought memories of the storm 6 years ago and watching it unfold on tv while trying to decide if I should go get the kids from school early or just leave them at school where they had shelters. Praying this storm is not the monster itβs predicted to be.

Itβs a crazy love/hate relationship okies have with tornados. But when itβs these huge storm cells and almost certain tornadoβs that we still get a little scared. I kind of miss it? π€π₯΄π²

I kind of miss it? π€π₯΄π² +_+_+_+_+_+ You crazy! Your church story reminds me of a funny church tornado story I have too. It was a year or two ago, and we were in the middle of worship when everyone's phones started going off with a tornado warning. It was a few miles west of us, and they had us all move to the fellowship hall in the center of the church. People were just wandering around like mindless zombies and some guy started leading the song, "I'll Fly Away." I was like, really dude? TOO SOON!! But what was really amusing was how no one was really taking charge and how people were just wandering around while this tornado is actually bearing down on us. I'm looking at the radar on my phone and see the storm just a few miles away, and the Preschool Director in me just took over and I started rounding people up and moving them over to a long interior hallway on the opposite side from where the storm was coming from. In the end, the tornado ended up not dropping down (thankfully), but I was just appalled that day that there was no PLAN and no ACTION on anyone's part but mine! HELLO PEOPLE!!!!

Many cities and neightborhoods in Oklahoma, including Bixby, were flooded, there were multiple tornadoes, and most schools that were in the storm's path are closed today, but now it's 75 degrees and sunny... I sure do love Oklahoma weather

Bixby, Jenks, and part of Tulsa sit on the Arkansas river, and because of the storm, the dam at Keystone Lake will have to be opened, which will cause the river to overflow, and areas of Bixby, Jenks, and Tulsa will flood. School is canceled tomorrow for Bixby, and we are exempt from finals. Everybody is currently going to the high school to sandbag. Scary stuff

Scary stuff I saw that the tornado that hit leach passed literally just south of y'all. That must have been really scary seeing that debris ball on tv before you took shelter. Good to hear that as of right now nothing that strong hit anywhere, I'm not seeing anything stronger than ef3 from monday or tuesday. Let's hope it stays that way today as there is another moderate risk issued for this afternoon and tonight. That's one level less than a high risk and still means big problems. Even though that moderate risk is about 100 or so miles northeast of you there's still reason to be worried -- think of the el reno tornado. There wasn't a high risk for that day either, and neither was there a high risk issued for the day of the joplin tornado. Stay safe up there. If all pans out, you have less than a month left to really worry about this stuff.

They released ~160,000 cfs of water from Keystone Lake into the river yesterday, which flooded many neighborhoods along the river, and was expected to put downtown Bixby under a foot of water. Today at 2 they are expected to increase that to ~215,000 cfs. No telling how far underwater downtown Bixby will be after that. The water is expected to reach my neighborhood, but probably not my house. We are taking precautions just in case. The flooding is not expected to recede until around Monday. Keep all effected cities in your prayers

I feel horrible for those that went through the Jefferson City tornado in Missouri. Preliminary reports say that it was an EF3 tornado but from what I see I wouldn't be surprised if it is upgraded at some point to an EF4. I knew something bad was bound to happen. If it weren't Monday it was going to happen some day this week. It looks like this pattern isn't going to let up for a while either. This is going to be a very stormy couple of weeks for the plains and midwest. I hope nobody on this forum has had to deal with any tornadoes so far this year. IF you have, when you get the chance please tell your story. We are all here to support you.

I just saw some video of what looks like very well could have been an EF5 tornado from last night, it just didn't hit any structures. Here is a picture of it. I can tell it's at least an EF4.
Dang it it won't post, so go check out ochiltree county texas tornado 05/23/2019 online. Simply amazing.

6 touched down within 15 miles of me, crazy stuff. Long track wedge was on the ground >50 miles.
Areas hit hard include Northmont and Beavercreek districts.
Luckily, looking like injuries and fatalities are minimal. Just a TON of building and infrastructure damage. 65k without power today.
