Confirmed: Stoneman Douglas H.S., FL Source: Calendar (BOA GRAND NATIONALS, INDY) Big news! I really, really enjoyed their 2022 GN performances, and am thrilled to see them making the trip up again! Hopefully they become a regular/rotating GN participant. Their impressive 21st place at GN Semis in 2022 - essentially tying with Morton, Kiski, & Jenison, just behind O'Fallon and placing above Centerville, Rosemount, & the Lakotas, and landing in 17th in Prelims! - combined with their high placing at Orlando in 2023 ahead of Byrnes, Harrison, Timber Creek, & Cleveland in both rounds (and topping Owasso in Music & Visual captions in Finals!) sends them coming into this year's GN more as fighting for a top 20 spot than fighting for a Semis berth again, in my mind.

Is a score of 99 a possibility this year?

I’m going to be honest… a score of 99 would feel wrong to me. Casually going from the rarity of anything above a 97.6 to above a 98 is… it just doesn’t settle well with me. I’d be content with a 98 if it was another absolutely killer show. But, then again, I’m a BA2021 Fanatic, so there’s a part of me that would really wonder if anything can beat that show.

The real question here is out of the less than 20 bands left to confirm, how many of those does yayband914 know of? My guess would be 7

This is now officially one of the best GN we will have in a good bit Since 2021, at least. 2016 was also a hell of a GN. Ah, yes. The three-way tie for second in semifinals! Only to have THAT topped by the tie that changed the rules about ties for first in finals!

This is now officially one of the best GN we will have in a good bit Since 2021, at least. 2016 was also a hell of a GN. I think there are probably two ways to define the "best" GN. If you're looking at the depth of finalist caliber bands, and the very top, 2021 is probably the best GN. If you're looking at the depth of semifinalist caliber bands, then 2016 is the best GN hands down. You had bands that always make semis missing that year (literally the only year Centerville has ever missed, for example), and bands that have made semis multiple times were finishing in the 50s that year. Right now, it's looking like 2024 might be on par in both of those categories.

Tonight American Fork had a “Show Reveal” on Youtube that revealed the title of their show but unfortunately not the repertoire.
So, I guess almost, American Fork 2024 Presents: SPOT ON !
Can’t wait to see where this thing goes and how insane AF will go to make finals this year after narrowly missing it last year (and 2018 if i’m not mistaken).

I honestly have no clue where I would put westlake in my ranking though, as the only reference I have with them is American Fork. They could make top 20... or they could be one of the lower scoring semi-finalists. I have no clue tbh.
