I must have missed that independence was on the roster here. That’s great!

We'll annex them! a lot of Indiana is "might as well be Illinois/Kentucky/Michigan/Ohio"...pretty much if it isn't Indy and surrounding, it probably wants to not be Indiana

You ain't a true Hoosier unless you're self-despising on the basis of being a Hoosier.

If you aren't located around the prosperous places anywhere you probably want out.

You ain't a true Hoosier unless you're self-despising on the basis of being a Hoosier. It sucks paying dual state income taxes with no reciprocity, but property taxes being capped at 2% of assessed value can’t be beat.

but decidedly not-Hoosiers "Producers of locomotive engine apparatus no longer prevalent" may not be fans of IU sports, but they are most decidedly Hoosiers, at least for a while. Born in the state = Hoosier for life. Not born there but live in the state (including time at PU) = temporary Hoosier (I had this distinction for slightly less than two years).

Yes, that was the distinction I meant here. I did, however, greatly appreciate the Boilermaker sentiment 😀.
