Just… MYSTIQUE… just… wow. Incredible. I can’t think of a better way for a trailblazer like Mystique to celebrate 30.

A post WGI made on FB said there would be sound during finals tonight, but it’s still muted? I've been watching on Flo and there has been sound the whole time....

Getting my first read of all the World Class groups tonight.
You could've told me Brownsburg has been World Class for years and I would've believed you. I loved their use of Björk and Kendrick Lamar. The show summarizes the energy of the current moment.
Walled Lake, WOW, a beautiful, sumptuous interpretation of water. I can't recall the last time I saw a World Class percussion group incorporate their entire colorguard into their show, but it served them well.
I kind of zoned out during Broken Arrow's show but Arcadia brought me back in. It is SO HARD to tell a convincing story with the most abstract of compositional principles, but I was sold on whatever Arcadia was selling. My guess is they're a tier above the three groups that performed before then.
Time to un-pause and watch Bridgeland!

I loved Boswell - impeccable design that really told a story, from the props to the costumes.

I’ve now watched the top PSO groups and Brownsburg in multi-cam, and it’s making me recall the promotion discussion and why others weren’t when Brownsburg was. This was such a no-brainer. I agree with cinnamonpromenade - Brownsburg looks and sounds like they’ve belonged here for years. The content and clarity is ahead of what we’ve come to expect from PSO units, and they put on a PRODUCTION. That show was one fantastic complete thought. Everything just flowed so naturally. I’m only bummed I didn’t get the chance to watch them more throughout the year.

WOW Burleson Centennial really showing why they belong in the second half of finals!! They do not feel like a Texas group at all. More of this kind of artistry please!!!

Does anyone know the secret behind Sparkman's meteoric rise?
On a map, it looks like they're on an island isolated from any other notable marching ensembles. I'm so impressed with groups that can build a silo of success. The effort it takes to build and sustain such a culture is unimaginable. So cool to see them performing at such a high level.

Center Grove – just wow! Slayed it after electronics misfires at the beginning. Edgy, dark, competent and confident – nice to see them in the hunt at the top of the pack! Well done!

I really was gunning for Dartmouth to make top 3 after their run... but Avon's show is just more fleshed out I fear.....
These top groups are seriously next level!!!

Avon really threw down with that run. You could tell how much these kids were connecting with that show.

Every year, Ayala brings a depth of authenticity and vulnerability that no other group can *quite* match. Truly inspiring to see HIGH SCHOOLERS performing such avant-garde work at such a high level year in and year out.
That being said, Chino Hills brought a level of clarity tonight that I think makes them the winner once again.
How cool, though, to see the championship be a dog race between two schools located five miles apart... and 2200 miles from Dayton.

Here's my completely unprofessional opinion on how PSW shook out:
1. Chino Hills 2. Ayala 3. Avon 4. Dartmouth 5. Center Grove 6. Burleson Centennial 7. Sparkman 8. Clear Brook 9. Arcadia 10. Saratoga 11. Bridgeland 12. Boswell 13. Brownsburg 14. Walled Lake 15. Broken Arrow

I think it will come down to execution vs GE. If the GE judges go all in on Ayala, it’s possible that could outweigh the clear difference in the performance captions. Ayala creates a world of their own in that arena. Can’t say watching CH produces the same experience. I will say, Ayala’s content and difficulty are very much up to par with CH. I think the difference really is just execution. The question is, how much of a difference?

Does anyone know if awards are being streamed free anywhere? Asking for several friends … Unfortunately I don't think so. Their YT doesn't have a prescheduled live stream ready to go like Box5 does nor do they have any uploads of any previous award ceremonies. Unless someone else found something I haven't

MCM - that message is loud and clear, and resonates loudly when you perform in such commanding fashion that leaves no doubt who the OGs of the activity are.
What an epic performance.
