I really hope they can maintain the momentum they got in 2021 with this show. I loved the 2021 show and excited to see where The Troopers take it in 2022.

I was talking to a former Cadets member and apparently this was originally supposed to be their 2020 show. Obviously that's just a rumor, but if it is true then I wonder if the show leaks regarding other corps' 2020 will point towards what their 2022 show will be.

I have been so bored with BK the last few seasons, it seems like the same show over and over again. However, I am excited to hear Phantom play Mahler 5 since I haven't heard that in a while on the field and it is one of my favorites.

If I'm being honest with the exception of Troopers, BD, Boston and maybe Cadets this year's design seems very underwhelming. Maybe the visual design will hardcore pull through but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this year is going to be the epitome of cliche modern show design. I usually enjoy more modern shows but, there is a limit to be drawn when every corps basically does the same show every year with a color palette change.
Crown, Phantom and BK seem to especially be a let down this year with music choice. Crown kinda just seems like they're gonna pull a 2019 2.0 and BK is going to do the same tired show they've done since like 2014. I like Godspeed! from Phantom but the rest of their repertoire doesn't seem like anything that anyone will remember a year or two from now. Cadets this year seem like their show will either be the best thing they've done since 2013 or a train wreck worse than 2017, but I'm eternally optimistic. Vanguard and Bloo haven't given show/repertoire reveals yet, and while I'm never too big a fan of their shows, I'm sure they'll both be passable and at least one of the two will medal. I don't really see Mandies or Cross making finals this year based off 2021, especially with Troopers, Pacific and Madison all looking extremely strong after this past year or so. I'm just hoping that the Cavies (the best corps) come in with some god-tier show design like and get like 3rd or something

I do believe that the shows for Colts, Phantom, and The Cadets were what they had planned for 2020 before the season was cancelled. Don't know about the other coprs that have announced but make of that what you will.

I love the music choice this year, especially Tarkus and the Neurohr. Not familiar with Bent Knee and I'm interested to see how they'll fit it in the show since it doesn't seem like typical show music. Excited to hear Fugue in G Minor for the 100th time

If you were to have asked me which completely obscure Spotify artist I have on my list that a drum corps would tackle ... Bent Knee was definitely not it.
They're a Boston-based band and play around here a lot. They recently did a live set with an interview on AudioTree on Youtube. Some incredibly weird/experimental stuff here and there, but enough melody woven throughout to make for an interesting choice for the Cavies. If anything, it seems like something the Bluecoats would dive into. Very curious to see this.

(It doesn't help that I know chandelier sounds great on the field if done by the right group, and crown is knocking it out of the park both in performance and arrangement. I think you might be really surprised with how all of it comes together. May be the hardest book they have done frankly btw. But your opinion on repertoire is your own and your taste for music is different from mine so you still might not like it after seeing it live...but I have a hunch you'll love it because it is hard not to love anything crown puts on the field and what they have this year is just awesome lol.
