As far as I know, Cheney HS will be the first ever band from Washington State to attend Grand Nationals. University HS attended the Summer Nationals of the 1980s (and won in 1983) but to my knowledge never attended any of the fall Grand Nationals.

Cass H.S., GA has a possible contest listed on 11/16. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Georgia's marching season goes through mid-November. Regardless, might be one to keep an eye on.

If only GA actually had a state band competition 💔 but yes, local shows generally end a couple weeks before grand nats in GA so 👀 if they end up coming y’all can thank me for predicting it

As a reminder: 'Tis the season for the GN list to have exciting additions and heartbreaking retractions on a regular basis. Many bands will put out feelers and then decide that this isn't the year. If there's any list to take with a grain of salt, it's the one for GN, so we shouldn't be too shocked to see things like Wylie dropping.
