Music for All has a stated goal of getting to eight weeks of four shows each. Adding another Ohio show is more likely than just shifting locations (sorry dbalash ). Jesus Christ. What is this, USBands!? That would require 8-10 shows within a couple hours drive of each other per area per weekend.

And if Ohio Stadium @ OSU doesn't have anything going on during one of the weekends what are the odds that we see Obetz moved there?

BOA creating more shows? I expect 5 more to be in Texas.
Haha no but really, I agree with others in that there needs to be an Oklahoma or NW Arkansas regional. And I'd love to see an early season Utah or Colorado regional to supplement the St George late season regional. A Super Regional out west would be great but I'm not sure how feasible it would be.

So if Waco is on the weekend of October 26th, we should see more 6A bands once again instead of 5A as was typical prior to this past season.

So if Waco is on the weekend of October 26th, we should see more 6A bands once again instead of 5A as was typical prior to this past season. Hmm, maybe? But for 5A, the tentative UIL State dates are just 9 days later, 11/4-11/6. So I could see some of the top 5A bands using Waco as a final tune-up before State, and not bothering with BOA-SA since it's after State. The 6A bands have more time, but since I'd expect BOA-SA will occur on the weekend in-between 1/3/5A State and 2/4/6A State on 11/8-11/9, the 6A bands also have the chance to use BOA-SA as their final tune-up before UIL State, so they might be inclined to skip Waco.

The big thing now is if you’re going to add shows, you also need to have larger variety of locations. There’s so many places that I’m sure would love to have a BOA event, and I think it could now be possible if this is something MFA is going to continue to work on!!! (Personally makes me very excited to see all the new competitions and putting a spotlight on bands we would have otherwise never heard of!!!)

So nothing concrete here, just based on how the season went and my personal perspectives: - I would expect Conway to return. The regional could definitely turn into an Orlando-esque destination location plus SC/NC fanatic contingent. - One of the Tennessee regionals probably go. Louisville/Clarksville is a 100% guarantee. Johnson City has embraced BOA completely to the point where the regional isn't going anywhere. Memphis has tended to an area of the Southeast previously invisible. Which means.... yeah. - Troy MAY move up earlier in the season to accommodate for the GA bands that would like to have the option to compete and perhaps capture some of the panhandle FL and AL bands. - Iowa will likely remain until another regional in the Upper Midwest can be hosted, most likely in Minneapolis if possible. However, U.S. Bank Stadium is extremely difficult to get. - Whitewater is likely still a Week 1/2 regional. BOA is being forced to work on WSMA's traditional schedule. There is a very big vested interest for the WI bands- but that may be resolved with a regional closer than Iowa. - Whether Idaho is going to happen or not this year, BOA will put a regional in the PNW sooner or later. There will be one, bet. - Another Rockies regional is potentially in the works. There has been no movement on this in the fall, but those CO bands are calling for BOA very hard. - Speaking of which, Las Cruces/Flagstaff are probably coming back. Flagstaff is less of a guarantee but there will probably be a replacement somewhere in the Southwest. - OK/AR is probably not going to happen in the near future. There's much bigger markets for BOA in addition to threading the needle for all the big traditional invitationals (Bentonville/BS/Union/Owasso/BA/etc.). - Prosper/Waco is less of a guarantee, I feel, in order to make the wide range of regionals they want to happen. Texas bands will pay, though, and that's going to keep the regionals in Texas. I would be very surprised if BOA adds any more Texas regionals because it is extremely saturated with all general markets covered. - If you do want an extra Texas regional for El Paso, I would consider Las Cruces/Flagstaff to catering to that market already. - A new regional may pop up somewhere in New England, but honestly, I don't think the appetite for BOA is big right now given USBands's reputation has now stabilized.

I'd also suggest in the OP post for this thread that Bedford and Katy will not happen on the same weekend. I understand this may be the only weekends available for both to work, but there's pretty heavy interest to avoid 5 shows in a weekend at all costs.

From what I understand, the desire to stay local far outweighs the desire to compete in BOA. Local shows bring in much-needed revenue to the host schools. That, plus the poor turnout (including Wisconsin bands) and the poor weather, makes me think it won’t be back. But, I would love to be wrong!

WSMA holds their extremely early (mid-October IIRC), hence BOA needing to put the regional on early. Whitewater did cancel on the recent first year (2022), which I imagine kept the WI bands wary this year (2023). Next year will be the make-or-break for the regional and I feel BOA would be flexible about moving it if the turnout is poor.

Idaho would be awesome!! I’m manifesting a PNW golden age 🤞🏻 Grants Pass and Kamiak would probably do well at a PNW regional tbh As would Ridgeline, the new school in the Spokane Valley that took students and staff from prior region juggernaut Central Valley. Cheney is on the upswing as well, and will be trying out Grand Nationals next year.

I would love to see some Wyoming bands. Kelly Walsh travels out of states every year, and some of the Cheyenne Schools goes to the CO comps. A Denver or Fort Collins regional would be awesome. I would love to see it, but Colorado is so isolated it would be tough to draw in bands from other states. It's eight hours from Denver to Salt Lake City and almost seven hours from Denver to Albuquerque. So you'd get MAYBE a couple of bands from Utah, a couple from New Mexico, even one or two from Wyoming, but that's it. There's nothing to draw from in western Nebraska, western Kansas, or western Oklahoma. I think attendance would be the primary concern. Could the Colorado bands support the regional on their own? Maybe. I don't think stadiums would be a problem. CU in Boulder, CSU in Fort Collins, and AFA in Colorado Springs are all options, plus the Denver area has some really good district stadiums like EchoPark Stadium in Parker and Five Star Stadium in Thornton.

Yes to this. I think Denver/ Front Range is too isolated. Perhaps they could fill it if almost every band went but that's unlikely. ABQ is definitely at least 7 hours. Co bands may be kinda stuck traveling far for the moment.

Thing is, I think the three Tennessee regionals are valid. I wouldn’t want any one of them to go.
Memphis caters to bands in the southwestern part of the State, in addition to drawing bands from states underrepresented in BOA like Arkansas and Mississippi. Then you have Chattanooga, which essentially COULD be a replacement for the Powder Springs regional since it’s so close to Georgia. Johnson City draws bands from numerous states like Kentucky, the Carolinas and Georgia. Each one has its unique pull and I could see all three continue to be successful.
Though, I wouldn’t mind a better venue for Johnson City…

I don't think Memphis will go based on the market it offers. The implication I meant was directed towards Chattanooga. I want to emphasize everywhere BOA has gone, the site has wanted BOA there- there has been tons of collaborations, cross-training, exposure, etc. that the site has offered. UofChat was no different, however stadium has proved itself ultimately a bit too unwieldly to host and I do not see the regional growing beyond the core base of bands already present, even with moving the date later on. Another regional within reasonable distance of the GA borders would see a fairly similar turnout still. No lie, though, it is an AWESOME site. The stadium is perfect for performing in and in the heart of Chattanooga, right at the foot of the Appalachians? Heck yeah. I would love to see it back, but the BOA schedule desires and demands does not favor Chattanooga at this moment, I feel.

Happy BOA schedule announcement month!
For reference, the schedule was announced and registration opened on December 19th last year, and on December 15th in 2021. We can probably expect a similar release window, either during or just before The Midwest Clinic.
Praying for some long-awaited additions!
