Based on the Rutgers football schedule, 10/26 and 11/2 are the most likely dates for Piscataway.

Maximum bands has been bumped from 110 to 118. Based on recent years' attendance, this seems unnecessary. In 2016 and 2017, they were oversubscribed at the stated existing maximum of 100. That's when the number was raised to 108 (with wiggle room to 110).

That's when the number was raised to 108 (with wiggle room to 110). Unless they're planning something big for 50 I'm picturing the first band taking the field at 6:00 a.m. both Thursday and Friday, with Thursday's last band stepping off at 11:45 p.m. with shorter breaks in order to get 118 prelims performances in before 9:00 p.m. on Friday. My knees ache just thinking about working that schedule and the bags under my eyes just got puffier. Or maybe they're ready to go to a three day prelims format with reasonable start and finish times all three days.

That better mean Washington state… It sure can't mean Washington, DC. Even when they called it the "Washington, DC Regional," the event was held at the University of Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic is covered with an event being held at the University of Delaware. Here's hoping the PNW event is on my staff schedule this year.

Husky Stadium is open on 11/9 - certainly would survive having to deal with already being out there and there being a game at Lumen the next day 1. Brrrrrrr (unless of course it's an indoor venue). 2. If they're gonna do a November show, it needs to be on the 2nd. The big groups will probably still come that weekend, but the likelihood of anyone schlepping it any later than that is very slim. 3. The other problem is that NWAPA circuit isn't releasing their schedule for a while because they are doing forums and questionnaires to determine which way they want to go with their format and locations.

Are there normally so many events with unknown dates? The number of unknowns has been increasing recently in large part to college football schedules not being set as far in advance (thanks to the constant realignment messing with conference schedules).

I can’t imagine working 118 bands into GN prelims! 😱😳 I could see them fitting in 20-30 bands during late afternoon afternoon/evening blocks. Slot local bands on Wednesday from like 3-10pmish. If you are a "semis on score" bubble band or AA/A band trying to make a class rep, going Wednesday will be a tough "draw".

Absolutely, but you could argue it could be even worse for a performance in the 5-6am range. I'd rather have a strong showing the afternoon before when not only the kids are wide awake, but the judges are as well for them to make the right calls! Also if a band is warming up at 430 in the morning, that means they have to be up and ready to go at like 3am. Most people don't even function properly at that time lol

That's why I have a real problem with the "random draw" that BOA claims to use. Stick all of the Finals shoo-ins at 6 am. Their performance time won't affect their ability to make semis...
