If there’s no BOA this season, does it just carry over? Probably not, a trip like grand nats is a lot for bands to organize and they tend to go on certain years for a reason (i.e. 6A Texas bands coming in mass on odd years when they don't have state, this year is just an exception) |

From what I am gathering on the annoucments from the Lincoln Way Marching Band website. I feel like they will be making there way Back in 21.

Call me crazy, and I don’t blame anyone if this gets taken down, but I think it would be fun to just start speculating what bands we might see and other predictions for 2021. Just based on bands’ usual GN schedules and who has attended too recently to likely attend again, I think we might be able to figure out what some of the bands are we can see in 2021. Keep in mind, this is obviously very early and just to hopefully renew some of the BOA hype during this time with no marching band, and this is all just for speculation. No confirmed attendees yet. Just rumored and likely.  You definitely threw me for a minute. I wondered why there were two active GN threads! |

Since LD Bell coming back to Grand Nats in 2020 is rumored... if the 2020 season doesn't happen, a comeback could potentially be in 2021.

Since LD Bell coming back to Grand Nats in 2020 is rumored... if the 2020 season doesn't happen, a comeback could potentially be in 2021. When I asked my friend from LD Bell a few weeks ago, he said that they weren't going this year. Could've been lying to me though. But I remember your posts on txbands also hinting at LD Bell doing "big things" so maybe you know something? |

Sounds like a great time to wait it out until 2022.I think a lot of bands are going to need a few years to recover financially. On the bright side, if GN is canceled this year, maybe some bands will reschedule for 2021 and in addition to those already planning to attend. Could be the most competitive contest in BOA history? |

I would love to see Reagan go, since they had to cancel this year. But 2021 is a state year for them, so I don't know if they will.

It is possible that some bands may falter a bit, but not having a competitive season will make people really hungry for success next year and directors will already be working hard on next year's shows. Plus, any rehearsals that are held this year can be focused on teaching and fixing fundamentals.

Almost certain it'll be weaker for the vast majority of groups. Loss interest from current members if they can't do it for a year. Who knows what band will look like in the classroom this year at both high school and middle school levels. I think this will be an 5-8 year issue for a lot of programs. Provided things get back to normal by this spring, do you think the 2021 season will be stronger or weaker overall as a result of no 2020 season?
