VERY surprised to see those scores at the top. I thought at least two of these bands would be popping 80 tonight. Great show top to bottom!

Just got back. I attended Prelims but left before the results were announced so I could go to the OMEA show in Ottawa (about 75 min. south of Toledo). I see that my top twelve in Prelims were also the judges' top twelve, and also that I agreed with the judges on five each of the top/bottom half of that list (I had Jenison in the top half and Bourbon Co. in the bottom half). But for me it was 1. Rockford; 2. Lakota East ... gap ... everyone else. Brownsburg was big and colorful but not more impressive for me than Jenison or Plymouth-Canton. And almost every band except my top two (and Dublin Coffman, who had at seventh) had terrible balance. Time and agin, synths and pits were just drowning out the rest of the band (many of which had full field miking, which is such a crutch). Very annoying. And I was sitting right in fron tof the music judge, so he should have been hearing what I was.

Congratulations to Brownsburg HS. This is their very first BOA regional title. Also congrats to Lakota East and Rockford for their strong performances. I also have to make note of Plymouth-Canton. PCEP has been a finalist at the NW Ohio/SE Michigan regional every year since 1990 (minus 2020 obviously).
