While I’m packing for the drive down to 5A State and BOA San Antonio! I’ll be in Austin on business so I be missing 5a prelims and finals :/. Leander’s show has grown on me this season and those kids can play amazingly so I’ll be rooting for them. Rouse and CP bringing it. I was blessed to hear Roma over the weekend and I’m hoping they break into the Top 10. It’s going to be one for the books fur sure!

In my area I am most excited about that O’Connor, Brandies and Brennan bubble battle in Area H! It’s going to be fun 🙌 Which bubble are they battling for? The 4th and final advancement spot to State from Area H (assuming Vandegrift, Vista Ridge, and Westlake take 3) Have to say I'd like to see Lake Travis get the 4th slot ahead of the 3 TXHillCountryBands named

Area B Preliminary Results
Judges ranks added up are in the parenthesis. Five judges total:
1. Coppell (14) 2. Keller (18) 3. Duncanville (26) 4. LD Bell (34) 5. Waxahachie (34) 6. Lake Ridge (35) 7. Southlake Carroll (44) 8. Timber Creek (46) 9. Lake Highlands (52) 10. Keller Central (53)
Next three out in order were James Martin, Berkner, and Haltom. The judges scores compared to each other were all over the place, as is the case for a lot of UIL judging. Hopefully finals makes everything a little clearer.

Vista Ridge with a big performance and showing why they were the 2018 UIL 6A State champions.

Area D Preliminary Results
1. Claudia Taylor Johnson (7) 2. Cedar Ridge (14) 3. Ronald Reagan (14) 4. Round Rock (20) 5. Westwood (21) 6. Hays (37) 7. McNeil (41) 8. Churchill (42) 9. Smithson Valley (47) 10. New Braunfels (52)
Next three out were Belton, Harker Heights, and Midway in that order. Because Cedar Ridge and Reagan both had judge ordinals of 14, the tiebreaker was which judges had higher ranked between the two. Cedar Ridge got judge ordinals of 2 2 6 1 3, while Reagan's ordinals were 3 3 3 3 2 respectively. 3 judges ranked Cedar Ridge higher versus 2 for Reagan, so Cedar Ridge won the tiebreaker.

Area F has completed with the following bands qualifying for state:
Area Champion: The Woodlands College Park 2: Klein Oak 3. Tomball Memorial 4. Oak Ridge 5. Klein Cain
If anyone is not aware yet, the Woodlands are in this area as well but they are not participating in UIL State this year, so they only performed in prelims.

Area B Area Champion - Coppell 2nd Place - Keller 3rd Place - Southlake Carroll 4th Place - Waxahachie 5th Place - Timber Creek Conspicuously absent is LD Bell. LD Bell has now failed to qualify for state in 2021, 2018, and 2014. A very rough stretch for them, and since they aren't attending BOA San Antonio, I think their competitive season is over now.
