I think: 1. Flower Mound (Visual by a mile) (GE) 2. Hebron (Probably takes music) 3. Coppell (thinking BOA will probably reward their demand) 4. Marcus 5. Southlake Carroll 6. Bell Hopefully lone Star makes it again! They were so good last year. Carroll and Bell over Wakeland/Keller would be fun

Flower Mound always has such fun, creative shows. I am really vibing with what they have put on the field this year! They’re great this year, but I’m having trouble determining what the overarching theme here is. From the costumes and the final pose, it seems to be Superman, but from the props it looks like an unfinished graffiti show. I think they might take visual, but lost music and GE to Hebron — but that bassoon trio could definitely pull some music GE points and put them over Hebron. Judges seem to love a good double reed on the field.

Flower Mound's performance levels are very high, as always. Musically they're playing really well and sound very polished, and visually they have great technique and crisp forms. That said, from what I saw last Saturday at Wylie I'm just not feeling their show this year. It's an interesting theme (I think it's Superman based?) but I don't see it in the show as well as I have seen themes in their previous shows. They could absolutely change my mind this Saturday, but right now I'm much more partial to Hebron and Marcus.

Look at this y'all. I'm doing predictions super early (for me)! Won't really be able to catch the show unfortunately, but it should be a great one!
1. Hebron 2. Flower Mound 3. Marcus 4. Coppell 5. Wakeland 6. Keller 7. Southlake Carroll 8. Waxahachie 9. L.D. Bell 10. Timber Creek 11. Aledo 12. Highland Park
But what do I know about TX (shrug) lol

I feel the same of being partial to Hebron and Marcus for this weekend, but I honestly don’t feel like Flower Mound is as polished as they usually are, I feel like they lay a little bare compared to the more fleshed out musical production that I’ve heard Marcus provide this past weekend and what I feel Hebron will bring to the table, even though I have NO IDEA AT ALL what Hebron is doing this year, minus the show name. That’s all I’ve got on them, but I’m honestly glad to be going in blind for them this weekend, I usually spoil myself on finding shows online beforehand haha

From their instagram, “The 2022 Flower Mound Marching Band production is entitled The Adventures of Superband and is intended to be a comic book unfolding in real time. Julia McBride Mendel and Alan Spaeth have created a comic book based on the students in the band.” It seems like a really interesting concept.

He was after all the mastermind behind PCEP's 1999 Thoughtcrime show and their other late 90s/early 2000s shows. I have been loving the shows that he has been creating for Flower Mound in more recent years.

I've never gotten sunburned at a competition. I HAVE gotten a great tan, though. It’s the Irish in me lol. I'm 1/8 Irish, so... Also 1/8 German and 3/4 English - there's lots of reason for me to burn rather than tan but I don't.

Marcus is fantastic as always, they have a lot of great soloists (including two mellophones at the beginning of the show, that made me happy.) Very challenging music book, but I think they have a better run in them for finals.

Methinks Hebron is taking the bronze in prelims. That closer was rough and clearly not finished (also incredibly difficult), but it will definitely get there — it’s freakin’ Hebron.
