Jenison!!! Loving the monochromatic color scheme they are doing again. The splash of colors from the silks is perfect! I definitely feel like I see what I’m hearing!

I absolutely loved Jenison when I first saw them back at Toledo at the beginning of the season, and this weekend just solidified those thoughts! The color palette is fantastic, the music is fantastic and there are some really great visual moments. Congratulations Jenison!

Jenison is taking what would be a stock show, and turned it into something wholly intriguing. There are tiny details here and there that show how much attention was put into this show and ensuring the show got off the ground flying. An absolute delight to take in!

There you go Jenison!!! Very good run from them. Tight musically and visually. Guard was stunning, and the color palette pops so much! Would love to see them again, but whatever happens, they 100% did themselves and their community proud this year.

Would absolutely love for them to squeak in, however, if they were close in prelims, their performance time may have an effect. I guess we will see. They left it all out on the field, and that’s what matters

Too much camera time on the singers.

Is that a parody of Ohio State in the tuba feature?

I definitely liked Dobyns-Bennett’s show more after a 2nd viewing, but still not one of my favorites this season. Their guard is fantastic and should really be recognized for doing all that work in those outrageously awesome costumes! Easily my favorite guard outfits of the year. I also LOVE their ballad and it really is the redeeming factor of their show for me this year. My biggest gripe is the large props that the band often has a hard time controlling. They have struggled with them all season and today was no different unfortunately. I do think we will see them in finals, but wouldn’t be surprised if it was in the bottom 6. Great job Dobyns-Bennett!

After one woodwind feature, the little ensemble all struck a pose, but the camera lingered for a second longer, and caught the clarinet player looking simply exhausted. Poor kid.

D-B Jacksonville finals run was stronger and cleaner than this one today. Saw/heard from almost the exact same angle both times.

Not totally sold on Dobyns-Bennett… I want to like it but visual seemed thin at times … wonderful use of the props, costuming, and colors. Choir seemed timid. Top 22, yes. Finalists? Not sure yet. I’d prefer Jenison and Kiski but that’s just me. 🤷♀️

Still trying to understand, and hoping someone can explain, why there were 34 bands today and not just 30?

DB might've lost their top 6 spot with that run, much better in prelims and I hope they can bring that prelims energy back tonight.

Still trying to understand, and hoping someone can explain, why there were 34 bands today and not just 30? IIRC, class reps (top 2 from each panel) that don't make the top 22 or the next 8?

Still trying to understand, and hoping someone can explain, why there were 34 bands today and not just 30? Because some of the class representatives didn’t make it in on score. So they were added to the top 30 for placement awards today.

Still trying to understand, and hoping someone can explain, why there were 34 bands today and not just 30? Semifinals always has at least 30, but if not all classes are represented in that 30 they add more so each class is represented in semifinals. Usually why you see the class A bands perform at the very start of semis.

No matter how you feel about it, that DB visual package is absolutely stunning. Musically maybe a little loose at times but they should be solidly in finals.

I’d prefer Jenison and Kiski but that’s just me. 🤷♀️ From seeing it twice now, the visuals are beautiful but there's too many props. When you're down low it blocks too much of the show and mutes some of the music. Had they moved some to the back I would have enjoyed it much more.

Still trying to understand, and hoping someone can explain, why there were 34 bands today and not just 30? There has to be at least 2 bands from each panel represented from each class. Since Class A did not have any bands make it in on score, they had to add 2 bands from each panel

Such simple props with the red scarfs used so effectively

This is honestly one of my favorite Avon shows in recent memory. I love seeing them back in their “old” uniforms. I love that it is such a simple show, in terms of no props. It honestly showcases every strength Avon is known for. Amazing music abilities, amazing visual design, their world class guard and drum line. Their ballad violinist is amazing. I was admittedly a bit worried about them at the beginning of the season, but not now! Way to go Avon Marching Black and Gold! #IndianaProud!

Jesus Christ man
Not the cleanest run musically, but man you can SEE the music in the drill and choreography. Just beautifully crafted and beautifully performed. We’ll see if anybody can catch them tonight.

Not exactly but I'm going with " earlier than they do in North Carolina". Depends on the school district- some have music as early as elementary school, others starts in 5th or 6th grade. Oh I know I was just kidding. I was really making a bit of a Snide remark about how much better Kentucky's marching band programs seem to be than ours
