Big beautiful colorful tarps but man, watching them cross it each time is nerve wracking. Those edges have kicked up several times. God bless them for being able to keep on trucking and sounding good all the while.

Southlake C has a lot of finesse in the woodwinds... and this R&J ballad section is like warm butter...

Incredibly cathartic seeing Carroll touted as a has-been only to be solidly in finals here

Damn, I keep getting low bitrates now in addition to low frame rates from box5! Every time I love the show, they blur the image!

Johnnie Walker Black for me. And a Coke Zero to keep me awake. We may disagree, but the man clearly has taste! I prefer to say we may not always agree… We align at times and I always respect your opinion.

Not for nothing but Carrol was reminiscent of Phantom Tefoment 2008 with that power moment in Romeo and Juliet. Love that brass sound

Southlake Carroll definitely plays like a Texas band. I think the show just has high GE; very interesting and exciting show to watch. I liked the pre-show a lot on high-cam view as well.

Honestly I thought I was the only one who liked Southlake Carroll and I put them as a solid Finalist, but it looks like there were a lot of doubters on here I actually really like SLC, just thought they had a little too much visual dirt/clutter to get over the hump. I'm glad they did. I was shocked to see them miss that earlier regional as I thought they had done more than enough to make it in. I was there to watch all of BOA DFW prelims, I had them solidly make it in with room to spare, my main issue that I recall with them wasn’t anything to do with their visual program but more so that they had a TON of intonation issues in what otherwise was an impressive music performance. Knowing they got 13th after, my thoughts were “eh, it’s fine, they have a month to clean it up. I’m sure they will”. I got to UIL Area B prelims too late to see them in their last contest up to this one, but they also did quite well there, placing just outside of making state in a very competitive area, so I had reason to be encouraged. Especially considering my expectations for Prosper being a solid finalist that also didn’t end up making State either

By the way, the infamous ballad is from Khachaturian's Spartacus opera, not Tchaikovskly's or Prokofiev's Romeo & Juliet operas : ) although we did hear a ton of music on the field each year from the latter.

i know it has to be ... and i volunteered on the field in Atlanta 15 years ago... the props in the end zone just irk me... there used to be an effort to keep them back further... .. i get it. there is a lot of crazy going on down in the tunnel ... the entire time bands are performing. I wish they would collapse the endzone seating and setup the curtain like they do in DCI. Let groups organize in there instead of the endzone.
