Incredibly cathartic seeing Carroll touted as a has-been only to be solidly in finals here being from the dfw area, at least when it came to marching band, in other arenas SLC do really well, they’ve only really started competing in BOA as of recent. Heck, in 2017 they didn’t even compete at the DFW regional THEY HOSTED!!😂 They’ve more or less transformed their approach when it comes to marching band and have dived deeper and deeper into it than they ever have before and they’ve been gradually ascending since then, I thought after their early showings this year, they might’ve hit a slight bump in the road with their ascension but nevertheless, they are continuing to prove their mettle here. They can’t be a “has been” if they’ve only started really diving into it imo😂

I know you all have been waiting for this opinion from me…
I finally figured out what I don’t like about these props (and maybe by extension some other Wes shows tonight)…not enough color contrast.
I think as thinking that it would be nice if the students interacted with the props more as they are such a cool setting for that. Then I realized they do interact with them, but since the uniforms and props are so similar in color it isn’t easily evident. Same with BA and their props.

Really neat setup and color and the music is very familiar but I just can't follow it all the way through. They obviously have a big spark to get to finals but just not my cup of tea.

I was confused by that statement haha. Southlake Carroll, Argyle, Highland Park are some of the ones that come top the top of my head when it comes to being novices in the BOA world, but definitely have been finding success in it.

Insanely better run for Brownsburg in terms of music performance. I think the visual GE is super strong in their show, and very lovely color guard flag work. Interestingly my rankings have shifted a bit from my Semis viewing. Here is how I would rank the bottom block:
7. Southlake Carroll 8. Brownsburg 9. Prosper 10. Fishers 11. Hendrickson 12. Castle

Nothing against the amazing performers, but I really didn’t care for Brownsburgs show design. It was so much show. They played it well, it just didn’t land for me

Great job, Brownsburg!! That show is such a HUUUUGE, massive undertaking for every department. There is just so so so much there and so much being asked of the members!! Well beyond anyone else in the bottom 6, in my opinion. I think there were still some spots that weren't quite under the band's control, but I am thrilled to have them in Finals (especially after I was so sure last year's beautiful production would make it in!!). One thing is for sure: there are absolutely shadows & shades throughout that performance of a future powerhouse & perennial Finalist, and that's clearly not far down the pipeline at all. I have loved watching Brownsburg's skyrocketing ride up, and with that design team, their competent director in Chris Kaflik, and obviously dedicated kids and parents, they will only keep rocketing up from here!! I can't wait to see what's next.

Don't know if it's just me but Box5 has been absolutely horrible tonight. Tried watching on my phone earlier and it was freezing every five seconds, and now I can only get poor video quality that freezes every few minutes.
Edit: And I can't even full-screen on my laptop without the stream freezing. What is going on?
