I have to say though, the echo in the stadium is not helping the bigger bands. Sound quality seems to favor the small to medium bands so far.

I thought Camdenton’s visual design was absolutely breathtaking. And the alto sax soloist was FANTASTIC. Show didn't do much for me, personally. They'll be right where you'd expect as usual, but it all felt pretty one-note to me

At least that’s the impression I’m getting over the live feed from flo, not sure if anyone there live has a different take. It seems very boomy and also doesn’t favor bands with complex music books

Lots of smaller moments seem to be getting swallowed from where I’m sitting.

O’Fallon definitely playing pretty well, I think better than last year. Their marching wasn’t quite as good but still not bad. Loved the big moment in the ballad. I wonder if we’ll get a tarp at some point😂

This Independence band has such a HUGE sound for the size band! I loved that show!! I'm not a tarp fan but that was cool!

I'm currently watching from the back, but Marian Catholic's visual execution looked fairly good. I couldn't tell whether or not their music execution was on the same level. This is going to be a close competition!

Marian seemed to be the typical early season mess that they usually are, although I feel like they had more on the field than they often do in late September. As per usual as well, their music demand is insane.
What is most interesting to me is that so far (they just played the first two movements), the show is a musical carbon copy of their last championship show, 2000's "Tragic Medusa". Even some of the same big drill moves at the musical impacts. That doesn't necessarily bother me --- it's not like any of those kids performing today were even born when Marian won with that show; hell, I wasn't even in high school yet so I can't even fault Bimm for it. Plus, it's INCREDIBLE music!! Just an interesting note is all. I am curious to see if the rest of the show ends up the same as 2000 or if they use different music for the ballad & closer.
Unless, of course, this is some inverted bizarre Marian/Greg Bimm idea that I just didn't get where they purposefully take a carbon copy of their last winning show and subvert it and now it's in a different light or something like that. In which case I'm all on board with that as well : )

But difficulty seemd beyond the current state of the group. Too exposed to get away with less than stellar execution. Visual mess as well.

Finalists: Blue Springs South Nixa O'Fallon Marian Independence Lincoln Rosemount Blue Springs Lockport Camdenton The announcer could have left room for a little more suspense... leaving the AA winner until the very end even though 2nd place was announced earlier.

Agree, announcing the two biggest surprises first killed it

Some of these results were very... interesting. Yikes. Blue Springs sounded good, but Rosemounts level of execution in visual was extremely good. GE I’m surprised Blue Springs didn’t win tbh

GE I’m surprised Blue Springs didn’t win tbh Their show fell way flat to me. A very low energy performance and a lack of buy in. They can turn it up, I'm sure.
