If that had happened I can only imagine what some of the more well known county high school marching bands would look like It's not going to be entirely accurate, but I can throw together some figures based on last years member numbers. If you're interested. Could probably even do the last two years and average them out just to account for inflation/deflation. Edited to add: It would probably be more accurate to use the two years prior to Covid, since Covid did a number on some programs. Those programs are still rebuilding trying to get back to their original sizes.

It was mentioned a bit on the other thread, but with the exception of Bellbrook, I don't believe any former AA Champions are attending Grand Nationals this year in Class AA (assuming Marian is in Class A), which means we will most likely have a new champion this year (unless Morton won way back in the day)
To show the stranglehold a small number of bands have had on the class, only 15 bands have even placed in the top 3 at Grand Nationals since the current class system was introduced in 2006 (this includes the fact that Tarpon was at times in AAA).
Marian Catholic (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021) Central Crossing (2006) Jenison (2006, 2021, 2022) Bellbrook (2007, 2008, 2009) Reeths-Puffer (2007, 2013) Kiski Area (2008, 2010, 2015) North Hardin (2009, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019) Morton (2010, 2022) Father Ryan (2011) Bourbon County (2011) Tarpon Springs (2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2022) Nation Ford (2012) Miamisburg (2015, 2019) Bassett (2017) Norwin (2021)

Yes we will have a new AA champ this year. Norwin broke the Marian/Tarpon cycle in 2021. Marian and Tarpon (and in the 90s and early 2000s, Kiski) have just been so good and at the top of AA for so long that it was really tough for other AA bands to get into semi finals. With Marian's unfortunate enrollment crises and with Tarpon only every other year, we will be seeing a more diverse AA field in semi finals.
