Standstills only for the remainder of this show as well (Blue Stars onward), though there is a chance that Bluecoats might still march their show.
Bluecoats did march, and it rained for half their show. It was disappointing that Blue Stars, Phantom Regiment, and Boston Crusaders didn't do the same. It wasn't raining for most of the time they played. And I have attended drum corps shows in the past where it was raining harder and the corps still marched.
Congratulations to the Spartans on their 2nd Open Class Championship!
Strictly speaking, this is correct. But Spartans also were champions in DCI's Division II, which was the precursor of Open Class, in 1997, 1998, 2004 and 2007.
A few other things stood out for me in the recaps: --The percussion judge had Guardians with the second highest contest subcaption, behind only Spartans. --The brass judge had Gold ahead of Spartans by just one tenth. --Eight judges had Gold with higher achievement than content scores.
Also Colt Cadets at 70.025 fell just shy of their highest ever score of 70.100 from 2018.
I was sitting amongst a bunch of Battalion supporters, and when Guardians' score was announced and was lower than their Prelims score, that made them nervous about what their corps' score would be. The penalty wasn't mentioned in the announcement.
Has anyone heard what was the reason for Guardians' penalty?
And what are folks' thoughts about whether penalties should be announced with scores? I can't remember whether that happens in DCI or not. Does it happen in BOA? I do remember it happening in DCA in 2014 when Hawthorne Caballeros, who had been first in Prelims, dropped to third in Finals because of a one-point penalty. (They otherwise would have dropped to a tie for second with Minnesota Brass, who held their position while Reading Buccaneers jumped from third to first. Coincidentally, I bought Buccaneers' shirt that year and was wearing it last night.)

One minute into Les Stentors' show and my video froze. Is it my computer? No, videos play just fine on Youtube. Ah, now there's a message on Flo: "This stream is experiencing technical issues. We are working to resolve hem as soon as possible."
