Can't believe Jamestown dropped out of National Class. I mean I get it since they haven't placed well in Nationals Class, but they seem to be doing well from the start if they won their home competitions with a big lineup.
Liverpool with that two point advantage against Arlington, West Genesee, and Baldwinsville who they lost to last year is crazy, and Small School 1 look competitive this year with Roslyn 2022 SS2 State Champion moving up to SS1 as well New Hartford, Mineola, and Malverne who was close to Mineola this week compared to last year.

I don't know that the Jamestown show lineup was particularly stiff competition. BUT it's great that there's such an even matchup of Buffalo-area groups this year! It's easy for NY band to not compete against groups in their neighborhood until state champs. Same goes for that Mohonasen competition—Arlington often goes the entire season without seeing their main competitors. What a lineup, especially for early season! It seems like CNS and Liverpool will be first and second this fall. Arlington might hold onto third, but I wouldn't count out Baldwinsville just yet. Bville didn't have their full show on last year until the end of September. I remember Bville scoring neck and neck with West Genesee beforehand, then jumping way ahead of them once they learned their closer. I think WG may end up being the cleanest group by champs, but I think design will prevent them from medaling.

Hello!
Was surprised to see my old conference up here in Hornrank. We actually had our own forum site but no one’s been posting there now compared to a couple seasons ago.
Anywho week 7 passed, could someone post the scores? I know the class rankings shook up a bit after the Saturday/Sunday shows

National will certainly be interesting I would say 1st place is up for grabs between Pool and CNS. But it’s going to be a razor thin margin for points. Arlington sort of sits comfortably at 3rd. In other divisions, with SS1 being tiny this year only having 7 bands, the splits between all 7 schools will be extremely small as well. I think mineola has a shot at repeating

What a day what a day at the dome.
Greece got their first title ever for LS3 Mohan won for the first time in 13 years SS2- Phoenix won! 2nd time in 3 years. I believe it’s their time now to be moved up a division LS2- on the topic of moving up, hicksville by rules is now moving up for the 2024 season with their back to back LS2 titles
National- stunned stunned to see Liverpool in 2nd tonight after winning pretty much the entire year. I think they even had a full point lead after week 7. CNS played really well to take it all
SS1- I’m shocked how good this class is. Roslyn’s first foray into SS1 and they came in 2nd! Cannot believe how good mineola is coming from an alum from prior staff. These kids and staff are just oh so good at their ideas. Incredible they won 2x in a row!

It's crazy how in the 49 years I believe they didn't make top 3 only 4 times now, as well 33 State wins. While musically they have always played phenomenally, I think it is their visual package that slightly lacks. This has been the case for years since their last win in 2014. Once they figure that out to be on par with CNS, Pool, and arlington, they’re going to be a force again. My other concern is Victor. Since their win in 2015 when they scored I think 98, they haven’t cracked top 4

National- stunned stunned to see Liverpool in 2nd tonight after winning pretty much the entire year. I think they even had a full point lead after week 7. CNS played really well to take it all That's what I thought too, but then I looked back at the scores and realized the last (and only!) time Liverpool competed against CNS was at ESM on 9/9, where CNS beat Liverpool by .45 and Liverpool beat WG by 3.15. Eerily similar to how it all shook out 7 weeks later... I thought the same thing about Webster losing LS2 after consistently beating SS1 and even National class bands all season. But naturally, with Webster being out near Rochester and Hicksville being on Long Island, they never had the chance to see each other until last night. Same with East Irondequoit getting announced in 4th place... I was so shocked! They were neck and neck with New Hartford all season!! But it's so cool to see Roslyn and Mineola—all Long Island marching bands in general—become so excellent recently. Aside from Copiague and Brentwood like 10-15 years ago, I can't recall such dominant forces from Long Island. It's cool to finally see so much stiff competition in NY!!!
