El Dorado out here holding a clinic on ripples. So much thought and clever elements in that show.

After block 1, Tarpon the clear leader so far (by a mile, in my opinion). El Dorado a solid 2nd, Kiski and Northview about equal.

Palm Desert simply HAS to be a semis lock.... right? ?!!!
This was the first show all day to elicit a visceral reaction in me. I literally clapped at my screen when I saw the final set. It was a fun, inspired trip from beginning to end!! Very excited to see more from them in the future. (Including tomorrow, I hope!!!)

Palm Desert really cleaned up! They did such a great job! They really did clean up tremendously throughout the season, and it's such a HUGE improvement over last year. Such a mature show out of them, and that ending set was so clever. I've always wondered why PDCMS has three guard programs with something like 80-90 members but much smaller membership at the high school. I only recently realized that Palm Desert High School is not a charter school like the middle school, which means the zoning boundaries may result in a number of students going to other local high schools.

I believe that PDCMS' director just started working with PDHS again this year. He was there in 2020 I think. I'm so excited to see where they go from here.

Arcadia's show is brilliant. Loving the use of what looks like Braille on their floor.

Arcadia - def my favorite SW show this year. today was a solid run for them. The show design goes crazyyyy and they made some great changes.
Carmel - This show is brilliant. So so so so so mature and the theme is handled so gracefully. A colorguard memento mori is wild.
Everyone is showing up today !!!

I love Milford's choice to perform a winter-themed show the year after an autumn-themed show. (I think the floors from both shows even have the same irregular shape?) Groups often throw their identities out the window once promoted up a class; I admire Milford for staying grounded in their own point of view. I'd much rather watch a show unique to a program/culture than a show just trying to copy what their peers might do.
Beautiful show, great trainingโcan't wait to see how they continue to grow!

I absolutely love how both West Broward & Stoneman Douglas had different meaning with their headphones.
West Broward pulls out yet another great show! Need to tighten it up a bit for semis though, but overall it was such a fun watch!

I just wrapped up watching SW.
The Woodlands is so breathtakingly beautiful. The color palette is uncommon (for a reason...), and it shouldn't work. But then you think of the show theme and how even just the color of the floor is so beautifully representative of what they're trying to convey, and you can't help but smile over such an audacious design choice. If they were performing this show with pretty silks and a light blue floor, it would be stunning to look at but it wouldn't be nearly as impactful. Absolutely genius choice. I'm amazed at the creativity and risk-taking coming out of this group.

Unfortunate to see Cleveland, Flower Mound, & Milford cut All three had really fantastic showings this year. It really is a shame they can't keep all of them for semis when the enrollment is this low. I'm sure they'd love an extra performance opportunity, and the seeding already takes care of trimming down the units to finalists to an extent.
