Some ordinals (Mustang, Franklin, etc.) in prelims are ALL OVER THE PLACE

Just realized NEITHER Center Grove nor Centerville made Semis... How times have changed Centerville was in 42nd place. With a score of 82. Back in my day (old man voice) that score was enough to land you top 20. Just goes to show you how much bands continue to grow and how deep this prelims field was

If I had attended in person these recaps would look different

Avon and Carmel often take the top spots at Grand Nationals because they are very talented bands that are able to attend every year. You would see more variety in winners/medalists if every Avon/Carmel caliber band in the United States was able to attend every year, but most bands are limited to a 2, 3, or 4 year cycle, if they're lucky. Pair that with the fact that bands might end up with one of their weaker shows on a Grand Nationals year and you'll understand why things might seem more skewed towards bands closer to Indianapolis. What actual reason would MFA have to rig Grand Nationals?? "We hate money, forwarding children's musical education opportunities, and building a good reputation as an organization" said no one ever. No reasonable person said it was rigged. The stuff you mentioned does make it seem more like The Indianapolis Super Duper Regional than Grand Nats tho. I mean, the original complaint mentioned a manufactured tie with the higher rank given to Carmel, so…

This has truly been a season of unpredictability. If you told anyone in August that this season would have THESE results, they’d call you crazy. From Dobyns-Bennett losing to James F. Byrnes, and Lafayette James F. Byrnes beating Wando Brownsburg and Fishers not making finals Jenks not making finals in Dallas Pearland beating Ronald Reagan Mustang not making Semifinals CTJ and Keller not making SASR Finals Seven Lakes and McNeil making SASR Finals Wakeland just 0.5 away from beating Marcus Centerville not making Indy SR Finals, and placing 5th in Obetz Regional Lambert tying in music with Dobyns-Bennett Maple Mountain going as high as 2nd in Utah Prelims Blue Springs beating Broken Arrow Marian Catholic receiving 4th in Class 1A Semis. Jenison placing 4th or 5th in Class 2A Semis. Independence, VA was very close to making Indy SR finals Goshen being in Class 2A and not 3A PCEP missing Semifinals for the first time in history and more... truly an unpredictable season.

Campbell County 48th? God the field was deep this year.
47. 47 is the number of bands that scored an 80 or higher. Jeez.

I 100% understand the 2 panels, but there’s gotta be a better way. I don’t know what that is, but there has to be.

I need Mason to get in on the trend of finding their stride and pull ahead. They’re consistent, but I need a push. Give me more shows with GE like Odyssey. Maybe now that Wes is no longer with BA, we may see them get more fleshed out show design? Idk, but this alum needs more 😂😂 I’d like to both see Mason and Brownsburg find a new show designer tbh… I think it would help them both. Did any of Wes’ bands make it?

Mustang first out, rosemount last in to semis. Westlake and Mustang tied for first out of semis.

I 100% understand the 2 panels, but there’s gotta be a better way. I don’t know what that is, but there has to be. I know, BOA wants everyone to experience Grand Nationals. But, trim it to a max of 100, 50 bands each day, Thursday panel, Friday panel and done. I don't think that's overkill.

I fear the 2 panel system may not be working the way it was Intended to… but one panel would be absolutely gruesome and adding more days is out of the question… multiple weekends?? There’s no good answer here

There’s no good answer here Nationals has always been two panels, but this way is just absolutely asinine. I'd say it's one of the worst decisions BOA has ever made, but withholding placements and scores at Nationals in 2003 takes that cake.
