I have a strange feeling that a lot of people are buying high on Park Vista in their GN predictions, but I'm only now starting to see people also listing them in the same tier as bands like Tarpon Springs and Wando. I have really enjoyed their shows and find that they bring a pretty fresh perspective to the activity, but I don't think they've proven they're quite there yet. I think the top 3 are pretty solidly locked in with BA, Tarpon Springs and Wando, with Park Vista in 4th unless either of Stoneman Douglas/Timber Creek find a way to challenge them for that spot. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I'm going to go with the track records for now.

Broken Arrow bringing Texas to Florida despite coming from Oklahoma. I’m loving every moment of this! Dang. Their performance time tomorrow is the exact same time Leander takes the field at TMC. Guess I won't be watching online!

My favorite version of that song, from the 2002 film In America:
Lol Seriously. And that was the best English-language film of 2002, in my opinion.

Dang, TS really phoning it in this year I agree. Impression from the stands is they wanted a perfectly clean show for today. I dont think they have any other major competitions this year. University made a good impression as a potential finalist was just a bit dirty. The other groups are all similar level. Great showing from Newberry. So tiny (they got a standing ovation though)

(they got a standing ovation though) As all the performing groups should Yes they should. I guess i was jaded and expected less from the audience and was happy to be proven wrong. For having 13 wind players they did outstanding. Sold their performance better than groups much larger. Made it memorable for me at least

I don't remember Seminole being so small. They're performing about as well as I was hoping to see, but I feel like a third of their band is missing

I don't remember Seminole being so small. They're performing about as well as I was hoping to see, but I feel like a third of their band is missing I feel like that's about where they usually are. They're not the Seminole of 15 years ago when they were knocking on the door of GN Finals, but they've maintained quite well as one of the top 5-10 Florida dogs over the last decade, often winning their class in FMBC and still enjoying their historically strong winer guard program, although the last few years strong in SO instead of SW class. They started rougher than I expected, but the ballad & closer were super strong. They play with a lot of power & passion for a smaller group! I was quite pleased as the performance went on.

Seminole will be in finals i think. They do seem a bit smaller than previous years but still played fantastic. They are FMBC AAAA (based on number of wind players) most years but im not sure if they still are. They draw from the same district that allows students to attend Tarpon Springs too

Hey Brownsburg!
That beats TS, for me. Bet at least one judge agrees.

Brownsburg was the first time i have seen an Indiana group in an outdoor setting instead of a dome. It really showcased the regional differences discussed in another thread. Hoping for a cleaner performance tonight to maybe surprise the other heavy hitters

Being from Indiana... info about Brownsburg has been non existent this season. They have decided to not compete in any independent comps this year (Orlando being the first comp for them this season) so this is the first time I (and many other Indiana band fans) have seen them. Overall a strong show. Its amazing how much this program has grown over the past 5 years. I have a hard time not seeing them in finals tonight or ISSMA Class A finals this season. Great job!

WOWWWWWWWW Brownsburg!!!! Holy HELL that's a demanding music book! I'm floored by the demand they gave those kids. They bit off a lot this year!
They're not achieving a lot of that demand just yet, but it's only the second week in October. Soooo many dynamic contrasts and HUGE, long, sustained phrases. Not quite there yet, but wow when they're playing that music book with the attention to detail it requires. They'll be quite the force to be reckoned with. Tons of visual demand and exposed drill as well, and that final impact is magical!! Very excited to see this show in a month at GN. Depending on where Stoneman & Timber Creek are at today, I could easily see Brownsburg in the top 5 tonight.

Wow what a screamer solo by Tarpon! "Screamer solo" to me means overplayed, out of balance, and potentially out of tune.

I am unable to watch the shows, but when I saw theme announcement for Tarpon Springs' show I was immediately worried that it would just be an imitation of one of Santa Clara Vanguard's recent hits. Would anyone like to quell my concerns?

tarpon did a hippy flower power type theme, made in their style of course. it was fun, clean, and much easier than they usually do so i wasnt reminded of a DCI show at all. Seemed more like if they tried to emulate a Texas style (dont shoot me!)

Well hello there, Windemere! What a terrific showing from a high school in its third year of existence! I can't imagine they won't be playing again tonight. Not an overly complex show, but super clean for this point in the season. Big, beautiful brass sounds that are a bit uncharacteristic for FL groups. I'm sold! I don't know how much more room there is for the show to grow and there's a wholllle lot of season left, but they have a solid shot at landing in Semis at GN. Excellent performance from this new group!!

My video froze right at the end . Great show Park Vista! Not a fan of singers unless they can sing and fits into the theme. She can sing and it definitely fits into the theme of the show.
