I don’t think that was Broken Arrow’s best run. Music seemed sloppy to me. I am still a fan of this show overall though.

Broken Arrow's show seemed really well done, although parts of the opener may have been a little bit messier than they would have liked. Having just seen Rosemount's show for the first time, I was kind of disappointed to be completely honest. Somewhat bland to me.

I also struggled to get the hype over Rosemount, though to be fair often the video stream doesn’t capture what a group is like in person.

With the early season results they were really hyped up! I watched them for the first time tonight and was left shrugging. It was a stock show that didn’t seem too impressive to me. I guess I’m just a little confused!

I'm just thinking, you can correct the downside of a 2 judging panel system by removing the top 7 bottom 7 rule in finals. It's just too convenient for these judges to have those perceive brackets in place. I happen to agree too it makes it very convenient. There used to be one panel for prelims and finals like regionals. Especially with 14 finalists. Wouldn’t necessarily be a correction for those bands who didn’t make the top 14 though Something to consider: Most everyone had Union on the bubble and a couple had them just outside, yet they are in the top 7. I'm not sure they would have made finals, much less the top 7 if they had performed the block this morning.

That opening segment was a little rough from Union I’m not seeing Union making GN Finals with this show, though it is still 4 weeks away.

Not just timing issues, but some brass fracking. Come on, Union! You can do it! The rest of the show is nice, but a little dirty in the closer tonight. Percussion is BEAST. All 6A OK bands are headed to OBA in two weeks. Union is the only group heading to GN.

I’m not seeing Union as a top 7 band tonight. There have been several performances from the bottom 7 that were superior. (I guess that’s why I’m not a judge!) They seem smaller this year also.
Will they make GN finals? Not so sure..

Union with a pretty big tear right there at the end... otherwise it was better than that sloppy opening

Union got some extra love in prelims. I just don't see top 7. What will the recaps reveal?

I don't know what I was watching then, because I thought Union was pretty solid. Love their visual program this year, and see them staying easily in the top 7 tonight.

A good number of the bottom 7, if not all had cleaner performances tonight.

O'Fallon seems to be having a shaky music run. I felt like their prelims performance was much stronger. Maybe it’s just an expectations thing, but I feel like several groups from the fist 7 were more solid that Union and O’Fallon. I doubt either drop from the top 7 though.

I think some of the bottom 7 had some penalties during prelims that dropped them, not sure which group(s) though

In theory, the judging panel for finals should place them accordingly... at least I would hope they are consistent in their scoring.

Actually Union was in panel 2 (the harder one) and Ofallon was in panel 1.
Panel 1:
BA Ofallon Coppell Camdenton Bentonville
Panel 2:
Blue Springs Haltom Bell Union Jenks?
Then the next 4 all came from panel 2:
SFA Rosemount Lake Travis South lake Carroll
Kind of educated guesses here...
Whoever was the 6th place band in panel 1 was at least 15th or lower.
The issue now isn’t which day is loaded, but which panel is loaded. Meant to help judges so they don’t get burned out over the course of one day I guess.

Digging that Wild Nights work-in, though.
