Blue Springs looks smaller and sounds much thinner. It looked like they only had 18 trumpets (unless I'm way off in my count), which feels very low for them. Roughly 110-120 horns, but feel like I'm used to seeing 160-170 from them.

Blue Springs isn’t on the same level as they were in 2018 (this show feels more like 2016 to me) but it is still a great production. Definitely much smaller then in the past few years. Overall quite enjoyable. Wouldn’t be surprised if they were 3-5 tonight.

Overall quite enjoyable. Wouldn’t be surprised if they were 3-5 tonight. I liked hearing “Land of Make Believe” on the field, as it was part of our show my Jr year. Of course our version was ripped straight from The Bridgemen. Blue Springs isn’t quite the Blue Springs of 2018, but still solid. I see them an easy 3rd at the Indy Super.

1. BA (duh) 2. Blue Springs (better than the rest but no 2018) 3. Ld Bell (the judges seem to like them) 4. Haltom (judges also seem to like them, nice show not super polished) 5. Coppell (always love Coppell) 6. O’Fallon (I like architecture, they play well) 7. Rosemount ( almost there! ) 8. Jenks (great band, I don’t know what that show was though) 9. Camdenton (play too well not to be included in the top 10) 10. SFA (play so well, great package, too good not to reward, visual needs refinement) 11. Union (ehh it’s dirty lol) 12. Lake Travis (play awesome, the rest isn’t all that interesting) 13. Bentonville (they were great! Could be higher) 14. Carroll senior (it’s a cool concept, but fell flat to me)
I think music scores will be relatively close, save for BA

How many years in a row has BA won? Every year since 2007 except for 2012 when they didn't attend. Owasso won that year.

4. Haltom H.S., TX 88.150 5. O'Fallon Township H.S., IL 88.050 6. Coppell H.S., TX 87.950
What a tight score gap for 4-6! Not sure if I personally agree with LD Bell being over a point ahead of all three, but they were still fantastic nonetheless.

I'm surprised Jenks came in second to last. They placed 3rd last year. I watched their show live in prelims and in finals. Tonight I was up top in reserved seating. Their drill was cleaner that several other bands I thought. And I thought they did really well musically, especially Typewriter. I'm curious what others think.

Their drill was cleaner that several other bands I thought. And I thought they did really well musically, especially Typewriter. I'm curious what others think. The spread from 9th to 13th was only 0.8 points, so very close between those 5 bands. The judges apparently disagreed with you visually, as they were 12th VPI and 14th VPE, and 13th overall. They saw something you didn't I guess? So with that margin, they weren't far off 9th place - those groups were just very, very close together, and someone ends up at the bottom. Happened to be Jenks last night. Still, they were very good and enjoyable to watch.
