Yeah, I dunno... I think your top 6 are the right bands, but maybe only 1 in the right spot (FWIW, I mean Carmel in 2nd). IF a TX band wins, it'll be Hebron, IMO. Big if. Carmel will be tough to catch. They've swept finals in back-to-back years for a reason.
Gimme: 1. Avon 2. Carmel 3. Hebron 4. Vandegrift 5. Leander 6. CTJ 7. The Woodlands 8. Wm Mason 9. Park Vista 10. Homestead 11. Round Rock 12. Rockford
13. Ayala 14. Center Grove 15. Union 16. Marian
One thing I will agree with is this would look VERY different if we had Broken Arrow, Tarpon Springs, Blue Springs, Jenks...
Oh, and you want "way too early" predictions? BA wins in 2020.

I don’t even know how to guess other than Avon and Carmel in the top three. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Hebron in there as well this year.

The two Texas bands with the highest probability of medaling are Hebron and TWHS. I like what I’ve seen on Leander but 3rd is probably their ceiling. I doubt Vandegrift will be able to hang with everyone else visually putting their ceiling at probably 4th or 5th. Without seeing Avon and Carmel it’s way to early. Haven’t seen anyone except Leander so I can’t tell.

I assume they will expand finals to accommodate all of the Texas bands... I doubt there’s a need to expand. Is there some reason all six Texas bands SHOULDN’T be in finals or am I missing something besides your smartassery?

Nope, just smartassery (I like that word) and being a bit chippy on a crappy Monday morning. I also think that this board doesn't handle sarcasm and snark like the sports message boards I frequent...
I am looking forward to seeing the Texas group in person. Assuming I actually get time to watch as opposed to schlepping stuff around for our band.

Also this year I’m relying much more on these boards for info because I’m not in the activity anymore, so finding anything out is proving to be much more difficult.

Heck, I can't even find out information anymore about Indiana shows/groups/results anymore now that IM is gone. There used to be a few Indiana sources on the old MFA forum, but not very many seem to have found their way here.

Do band nerds typically lack a sense of humor, or are we all just extra sensitive artistic types?!

At least I think I do... Also, I’m going to vlog a lot of the season this year starting with BOA Austin and ending in Indy. My goal is one each weekend. Yes I know it’s mostly just Texas I’ll be vlogging but what else matters, right? (That one was for paddy).

If 6 Texas bands make finals, that would be a first. So far, 5 is the most bands we have had from one state in GN finals. As much as I would love to see Avon finally win a 4th GN title, I think we are overdue for a champion from Texas.
