Walled Lake Central's show is titled "We the People". I am normally skeptical of patriotic themes because I feel they lean on our emotions to generate sympathy. In barbershop quartet competitions, groups are assessed an automatic penalty if their musical selections have patriotic or religious meanings. (Which hasn't prevented groups from winning even with the penalty.) HOWEVER, when you do patriotic themes as well as Walled Lake Central does (apart from the prop failure), I have no objections whatsoever. Other bands should study this show. (Obviously Broken Arrow's show last year too.)

Carroll!!! I love this show so much. Definitely the best Carroll production we have seen... EVER! Keep up the great work. What would your guess be between Carroll/Fishers/Centerville? Ahhhhh I was just trying to figure that out. Right now I want to say: Carroll Fishers Centerville I think it will fall like this though: Fishers Centerville Carroll Also.... what has happened to Lake Central? I know the past few seasons numbers had been dwindling but they are so small now. It looks like a class D or C ISSMA Band. I did a double take at the schedule just to confirm it was indeed them.

Lake Central had some electronics issues that delayed their start briefly, but once they got going, their "Dreamcatcher" was a nice little show.

All I can say is Carroll! WOW!!! That was a great show. That opening coming off the pre-show is such a statement. Love the pre-show. And the This Little Light of Mine ballad is beautiful. Favorite show of the day for me.

For myself, I thought Centerville had a rough performance, and I have them in fourth now.

Lincoln-Way's "Seen/Unseen" is a visual treat and totally surprised me, first with the uniforms and then with the props. A lot of planning had to go into that design.

After seeing Lincoln way how do you think the top 3 shape out to be? I don’t think they were the best-sounding group (I’d give that to Fishers or Carroll... maybe even Lakota West!), but they certainly are packing the most GE of the day.

Which is why top 3 is gonna be close. The ending of Lincoln Way was a bit dirty but the rest left me pleased. Interested to see the class awards!

Hilliard Bradley's "Train of Thought" beat Nordonia two weeks ago; they might do so again today, but unless they can get that show a lot cleaner or a lot more engaging, Nordonia's going to catch them soon. I think the audience expected more from "Crazy Train".

I have to head out by 4 p.m., so my apologies to Rockwood Summit, whose show I'll miss. But of the rest of the field, this is how I would have it, using round numbers as much as possible. I expect to come back in several hours and find the judges didn't agree with me at all:
Lincoln-Way 81 Carroll 79.5 Fishers 79 Lakota West 78.5 Centerville 78 Walled Lake Central 77 Goshen 76.5 Henry Clay 76 Ben Davis 74 Decatur Central 72 Beechwood 71 Campbell County 71 Hamilton Southeastern 67 Lake Central 66 Hilliard Bradley 65 Nordonia 64.5 Franklin Central 64 South Oldham 63 Central Crossing 62 Angola 61 Shawe Memorial 60.5 Concordia Lutheran 60 Hamilton 58 Carroll [OH] 57 Fairborn 55
