Finals Schedule:
7:30 Hamilton Southeastern, IN
7:45 Reeths-Puffer, MI
8:00 DeWitt, MI
8:15 Lake Central, IN
8:30 Archbishop Alter, OH
8:45 Homestead, IN
9:00 Goshen, IN
9:15 Beavercreek, OH
9:30 Dublin Coffman, OH
9:45 Rockford, MI
10:00 Jenison, MI
10:15 Plymouth-Canton, MI
10:45 Finals Awards Ceremony
Appears, at least, that there was a tie for 6th place so top half was seven bands and bottom half was five, given Homestead's performance time in finals.

Looks like someone was wayyyyy off on Dublin Coffman. Me. That would be me. Ope lol. A bit bummed I'm not going to get to see Kings again tonight too because they really have an entertaining show. All the Indiana bands made finals as well as all the Michigan bands making finals. Homestead in a really tough spot with that 6th place tie pushing them into the "bottom half". Things are definitely swinging in Jenison's favor tonight!

We definitely need a surprise tonight given the somewhat monotonous prelims results.

Was there a tie for sixth? How is Homestead not in the last six if they won AAAA?
EDIT: Sorry, didnāt see the other posts.

I had no idea about the tie rule for splitting top/bottom blocks so this is news to me. Anyhow, I am also happy to see Dublin Coffman even higher than I already placed them.

So to clarify, it does appear as though there was a tie for 6th in prelims. So the first 5 were in the bottom half and then the top 7 includes the tied group. Homestead just had the unlucky draw in this instance. If it had been by just the drawn slots, the performance order would have looked like this:
HSE RP Dewitt Homestead Goshen Beavercreek Lake Central Dublin Coffman Rockford Archbishop Alter Jenison PCEP
So just a bit different if that were the case. Either way, Jenison looks to be in the drivers seat right now.

Excited to be watching the Toledo finals tonight! I will be doing a small recap of each band. Just my personal opinions.
Hamilton Southeastern: first off Iām happy to see all Indiana bands in finals! This is hands down the best production we have seen from Hamilton Southeastern EVER! Some great music selections including one of my favorites, Moonlight Sonata. Fantastic flute soloist! While show design isnāt as refined as other groups, this is a great step forward for Hamilton SE.

I love how this little non-Texas regional is getting so much attention on here. Carry on, y'all. ā¤ļø

Reeths-Puffer: one thing Iāve always loved about the NW Ohio regional is that we always get a great sampling of MI marching! Fantastic trombone solo during the opener. Some great woodwind riffs and yet another great soloist during that ballad. Love the uniforms. Some balance and intonation issues but overall a solid run.

Logistic related: I forgot how much I hate that you enter and exit the glass bowl from the same side! Seems like it would cause a huge traffic mess.

DeWitt: is the guard dressed as Andy Warhol? I love it! Great opening small group. A nice powerful ballad moment also with a beautiful flute solo. Some visual dirt and timing issues though. Overall a fun show. Who doesnāt love a drum break dance block?

Lake Central: obviously a lot has happened to Lake Central since the early / mid 2010ās. They were so primed and close to marking GN finals. Several director changes and a couple of Covid seasons laterā¦ we are here. Good news is they are growing! A large guard, more winds than the past few seasons and an improved show design. Itās encouraging to see and hear! Toledo has been full of great soloists, including LCās flute soloist. Iām encouraged for their future.

I'm not sure what happened this morning, but I thought Lake Central was WAY better tonight compared to this morning's run. It also looks like they ran the fly-over tarp all the way to the back of the field instead of landing it in the middle of the field on top of the marchers' heads.

Archbishop Alter: I love a fun show and thatās exactly what we got! A very small but very mighty band with a some great Stevie Wonder music selections. Great trumpet duet and a harmonica solo? Awesome! It sounded like there was some overpowering mic feedback unfortunately during several parts. I love a small band that still fills a stadium with great sound and a great show, and Archbishop Alter didnāt disappoint as usual!

My bottom block rankings have shuffled around a bit from Prelims:
8) Lake Central 9) Dewitt 10) Reeths-Puffer 11) Archbishop Alter 12) Hamilton Southeastern
Also glad to see Homestead has their props. Hope the electronics work this time!
