Just tossing this one out there. The last time a band other than Carmel or Avon won the Indy super regional was way back in 2008 when it was won by Lawrence Central IN. The last time the Indy regional was won by a band not from Indiana was way back in 2000, before it was a super regional. It was won by Marian Catholic that year.

I just want to make sure we’re all frequently checking in on LeanderMomma this weekend because she will likely be going through a severe case of TRW (Texas Regional Withdrawal). I am definitely a bit out of pocket right now but look for me to be back in Texas for 9 days starting one week from tomorrow. 😍😍

I’m really going through that TRW withdrawal, but I am going to the Area C competition next weekend so I don’t have to wait too much longer🙏

What happened to Norwell? They had a nice run some years ago and now they're 84th?

What happened to Norwell? They had a nice run some years ago and now they're 84th? They haven’t been the dominant force in their class that they once were for several years now. Their director moved to Carroll H.S. in Fort Wayne.

Not that this was exactly a huge surprise, and boahistorybuff can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is the first BOA regional Finals either Center Grove or Lawrence Township (or Lawrence Central, prior) have missed since....beginning participation in BOA? For CG, that's gotta be back to the 1980s, bare minimum.

Congratulations to Avon for regional win number 13! Also a shout out to Carmel for coming so close. I love how these two bands push each other year after year.

For CG, that's gotta be back to the 1980s, bare minimum. Center Grove has been competing in BOA Regionals continuously since 1990 (I am not sure if they competed in any in the early 1980s) and yes this is the first time they missed finals. The Marching Pride of Lawrence Township is a little more complex. Since Lawrence Township has been in existence (the merger happed in 2014), yes this is their first regional miss. If you look at the two bands that merged, Lawrence North did miss some regional finals in the 2000s I believe. Lawrence Central competed in a regional in 1985 and did not make finals (they were not BOA ready at that point in time). Since Central reentered BOA competition in 1996, they did make regional finals every year (often at multiple regionals) except in 1998 which was the year they skipped BOA.
